Nort Kaptain Inspector Atalia Jaegir returns to the chem-fog hell of Nu Earth only to cross paths with the near legendary Souther genetic infantryman, the Rogue Trooper...A bit of 2000AD fan art of Atalia Jaegir battling against the personal demon of many within the Nort faction, i played up the idea of making Rogue look faintly demonic with the parting chem clouds and fog looking like wings.

If I was in charge of casting I'd have Sean Pertwee play Col. Kovert.
I'd also show both male and female GI's operating in both support and combat roles, cause limiting a vital force like that in a Skyro level war seems counterproductive.
I've listed other casting choices somewhere in another of adamantis' pictures but I don't recall which.

Keeping the Retro esque designs (while slimming them down) because It shows just how long the war has gone on for.
Add Female GI's among the forces during the massacre because segregation in a war where every body is needed is stupid

I think it could be adapted into a movie fairly smoothly, the retro designs would give it a fair bit of character, Rogue himself is a variant of Dredd, a stoic soldier, and the bio-chip hardware would provide a touch of character and humour as required.
I always thought Rogue and his fellow Genetic Infantrymen were regarded as disposable biological robots, and having female versions would be seen as needless. That said i think Venus should be a unique creation, either as an experiment for the effectiveness of a female model or created as a 'daughter'/bodyguard for the G.I. creator.
I have to admit i was more a fan of the now abandoned 'Friday' version of the Rogue Trooper, he seemed to have a more human personality than the classic one.

My take on it would be that the gender of GI's is uncontrollable so they just role with it. Though I do like the idea of Venus being the Boba Fett of them. A subplot could be her protecting Rogue from the sniper Morgan who began hunting him after he escaped the Nort the first time he was sent after Rogue. The two even having a sniper battle as Rogue confronts the Traitor.

That could explain the Quartz massacre, if the gender was uncontrollable that would provoke concern of creating a race of superhumans that could possibly replace humanity, so the traitor general took drastic action.

Helm: "You know Rogue. I would like to be meet the clown who OK'ed the decision to have a BioChip slots placed externally where any Nort can come make a single luck shot and take us out instead of somewhere actually safe, and give them a piece of my mind. Granted that's all I have right now so there's I'm out of options when it comes to physical retribution."Β

Oh that is a good motivation. Also this exchange could explain why they don't just report in.
Gunner: "If we're all that's left. Should'nt we get back to command, get ourselves some new bodies?"
Rogue: "Because only they knew about the Landing, Gunner. So only one of them could have told the Norts. Command is comprimised, so we're on our own till we can find out who."
Helm: "By heading into Nort territory and getting the name straight from the enemy's mouth. Not exactly the most subtle move Rogue."
Rogue: "We have a lot of family to Avenge, might as well be direct."
