Description
Late 1980's Lobo takes time off from work to say hi to his fishy buddies.Slightly more a 'Space tough guy with a bike' than the 'Space Hells Angel' he developed into, the Lobo of the late 1980's is my favourite ( if comparatively brief ) incarnation of the character. Surprisingly witty, deceptively intelligent, and even capable of being civil while killing ( and not coming across as an aristocrat like the New 52 version ). This version of Lobo was a professional assassin and bounty hunter who 'unlike inferior brand assassins', didn't use weapons, preferring to use his hands for that personal touch, that and he found it fun ( he is a bad guy ).
It was also this version that introduced the idea of Lobo's long running connection to the 'space dolphins', creatures that he was fiercely protective of and provided a sanctuary to.

The only thing that make a genocidal killer a friendly man is a dolphin.

Actually this version Β popped back Β in Tony Bedard's fantastic REBELS series. And while I do LOVE the over-the-top solo Lobo, the Lobo you've depicted works GREAT when facing Superman or in relatively serious stories. The way he was in the Superman cartoon was kind of a hybrid of the 2 variations...

Good to know, i'll have to look it up
I think that might make him the third Lobo in the New 52 continuity...

I think that one was the Peyer's run. Bedard's REBELS is much better focused. This should explain things better Β devilkais.deviantart.com/art/Aβ¦

He's like a DC version of Mr. Torque.

Well this explains why he was apart of the church of the triple fish god in 52. Always wondered about that. Awesome work ere

Yep, the Dolphin thing was one of those quirks that stuck with the character. Thanks

So is the rampant murder desire (I do so love that scene where he snaps in 52 lol) ... I miss classic Lobo
