Convention sketch of Arsenal from the Baltimore con '09.I really, really don't like the Red Arrow thing they've got Roy doing these days. I know Alex Ross had it in Kingdom Come, and everybody has to love everything Ross does, but I personally don't think it fits Roy's character at all to go so far out of his way to turn himself into Oliver Queen. Roy's always fought to be his own man; much to much to suddenly turn himself into a Green Arrow clone in red. Plus the costume looks kind of bad. Even Green Arrow doesn't dress like that anymore.
Anyway, forgive the not-so-great anatomy please - it was a convention sketch, and these things rarely have the time to be properly laid out, reworked, and perfected the way you want. And also forgive any inconsistencies in the costume, as I had no reference and was going totally off memory.

I'm not a fan of the move to Red Arrow either and I was even more put out by the Rise and Fall. . . but at least he's Arsenal again. . . I guess Dx

I loved it when they dressed him in red again because it suits his temper and haircolor XD
But you are right about his intention to be individual and different from Oliver. "Red Arrow" was a weird idea and absolutely not "In-Character", "Arsenal" was. Though I like how he matured over the years, being a father helped a lot with it.

Yeah, using the red isn't bad, but his last costume used a lot of red, too. I don't know, even if they went with the Red Arrow thing but made a cooler looking costume I might not be so anti, but as it is they took the cheesiest of all Green Arrow costumes to base it on - a costume that even Green Arrow wouldn't wear anymore. That hurts the design a lot.

Very, very nice redesign. I love it. I agree too, I'm not all for the Red Arrow thing, I always thought this was Connors dig to be like the ol' man.

Right! Connor is trying to walk his father's footsteps to feel closer to the parent he never got to know. Roy DID know Ollie, and so wants to be his own man. Anyway, thanks for the compliments!

(XD) No problem, I'm still like waiting for the next panel of Black Canary who I always get this feeling is like... this Big Sister/Mother almost Mother from what happened in the JLA when Kendra and Roy hooked up.
Still in some elseworlds, where she is his Mom, and its Mentor/Parent Day at Titans Tower, for like the Year One Titans...

I really don't care for the "Red Arrow" change either.
Although really, that's just the tip of the iceberg in DC character changes of the past few years I don't like.
(The biggest offender being the utter destruction of every character who was in Young Justice)
So it's great to see Roy as Arsenal again.
