This is just to give a bit of a helping hand for people who want to draw owls and want to clean up some common mistakes
I really can't stress this enough; OWLS DO NOT HAVE CROW FEET. So stop it. Just stop.
Also, many parrots have two talons x two talons and Ospreys and such.. so if you're planning on drawing ANY bird, make sure you check what their feet look like! ( Or I'll hunt you down and gut you like a fish D: )
No, there's no wings on this tutorial. Mainly because people seem to get so distracted by wings they screw up everything else. That and there's a bazillion wing tutorials out there.

looks like someone has been reading my mind today...
i was just in the school library this morning looking for a "how to draw animals" book, hoping that it would have owls in it. thankyou for this tutorial! i was needing one since i decided that my story no longer just has lions and hyenas in it, but instead all animals of every species worldwide! (wolves and T-tigers included!)

turns out i had some of the chapters posted on here for all to read, but i quickly had to take them down due to "way too close" similarities to 's story....
luckily though, i'm rewriting the whole thing, and she has even volunteered to help me fix it up a bit!

yeah, problem is though there's not a lot that you can do with wolves, or most wild animals for that matter.
when it comes to domestic animals like dogs, cats, horses and others, you can easily make stories of them being city animals living the luxurious life then thrown into the wild, or being experimented on for animal testing, or leaving one beloved owner to live with a new/horrible person, and what not.
but with animals that are already wild, what can you do but make stories of them...acting wild?
not to mention, most people want their wild animal stories natural.
mine used to be like that but one day i just said "realism is boring." and decided to put a little more fantasy in my story!

You know I originally felt that way but I suppose that's the point in a comic sticking out more than others? I mean.. Lion King, Balto, Warriors, Brother Bear, Bambi, Happy Feet, and so on are all about wild animals and they don't share stories. I think if people sit down long enough instead of copying BBA they'd find there are good stories for wolves/canines or other wild creatures.
I actually have one bubbling in my head about the coywolves of Massachusetts |D They're my favorite canine.
TRUE. Domestic animals gives some flexibility but you can still do the same for a few of those:
Luxurious life to not: Lion lives the good life in his/her pride and then suddenly isn't and has to face the harshness of the wild without the team. Experiments = same thing I guess, since they could capture a wild animal? Beloved owner to not = An orphaned animal maybe ono
Realistic can be really interesting actually. Like the story of the lioness who adopted an oryx calf would make a really touching comic :'D
