Description
Finally finished! Falen in the black heart of Marcale, with the old entrance of Widdenwael nearby. Painting this maxed my patience to the extreme. Over a month of planning, dozens of references used, and my arm hurt from my wrist to my elbow by the time I was finished. One of the biggest paintings I ever attempted back around 2004/2005.You can learn more about "The Wars of Avenan" storyline and characters here: www.meadowhaven.net/wars-of-av…

Wow... this is so enchanting and just begs to have a story told about it (which you say it does!). I could look at it for a long time. ^^

It's absolutely magnificient!
There's not much to say exept that, really.. You've done a hell of a great job.
And yes.. You can die happy now..
Me myself would never had the patience to finish something like this, with all the tiny, tiny details and so on and so forth..
This is truly a masterpiece.

That is really awesome!! Now here's a question for ya: what was harder, to write the book or paint the cover?

To write the book..that took years to finish, editing included.

Ok, your artwork is filling up my favorites. At least you can go without saying that others enjoy your work. It's obvious you have a talent. I wish I could place all your work into my favorites, but I guess I'll just have to live with visiting this sight instead.

obviously this is technically amazing, but the main reason i like it,is because of the unusual compostition and the murky mysterious coridoor of trees in the distance............it reminds me of narnia!

Oh my... O______O
I can see why this must have taken so much time and patience! That's incredible! The detail is so elaborate with all the different plants and stuff. You must have done all that very meticulously. It looks so real. You can almost smell the sort of damp outdoors-ish smell that places like that tend to have, and you can almost hear the little nature sounds, even if that just amounts to the sound of boots on rocky dirt. Amazing job. This is so realistic that you can almost feel like you're there. Beautiful! =]

This . . . is an amazing piece of work. I wish I could zoom up super close and study every brush stroke. This is definently a painting worth learning from. And you captured it so well! The foliage seems to glow . . . the fog seeping out of the doorway gives a creepy, evil feeling, but when you look at the Rover, you suddenly feel safer. Like you know he's gonna take care of everything.
Plus, it's hard to be too worried if the blue butterflies aren't running away. Or maybe the butterflies are what lets us know we can trust him?
Hmm. Yes, you can definently tell this has touched me! I don't know how long I sat there staring at it . . .

The boy in the cape isn't the Rover, he's the cripple. ^_^; The Rover can't be explained unless you read the books. I'm glad you like it, though! Thanks for commenting.
