Description
For65 MYA. North America.
This is the end.
The episode begins on a small beach, where a large bull Tyrannosaurus chases a smaller individual away from his territory, but not before tearing his arm off. This escalates into a nasty struggle between the bull and the smaller male and his mate – one that gets personal when the bull tears the couple’s chicks apart.
Later, after the couple teams up to take down a Triceratops, the bull reappears. The couple manages to take him down purely by accident when he falls on the horn of a Triceratops carcass.
The couple has a second clutch of eggs. One young rex finds himself in a bit of a mess one bright sunny day. As Quetzalcoatlus fly overhead, an old Ankylosaurus with bad eyesight winds up as the center of a brief hunt – a juvenile Pachycephalosaurus takes refuge beneath him from two Troodon. The Troodon themselves are then chased into a cave by the juvenile rex.
The asteroid comes while they’re inside the cave.
Upon leaving, the three dinosaurs’ world has been destroyed. Ash covers the ground. Most other dinosaurs are dead, including the rex’s parents. The juvenile slips off an ash-covered cliff while chasing a small mammal and dies from the fall. The male Troodon and most of his clutch of eggs dies from the cold. The female tries to incubate her last egg in the mouth of the dead juvenile rex… but there can only be one outcome, and the episode ends on a strange note – the birds live, but the dinosaurs are gone forever.

That episode, I think, ended with the implication theropods survived.
