Description
Deep beneath the waves near the warmth of lava vents these warriors of the deep keep watchful eye on their territory. Wilder than their surface mermaid brethren, they have little time for lulling knowledge or treasure seeking humans to their doom. When on the hunt they communicate with a sound that is absolutely terrifying. In the dark their bioluminescent shells could easily pass for other creatures that live in this area. Their eyes well acquainted with low light, are equally keen in brighter situations. Armed usually with spears made of shapen whale bone with obsidian tips, they are strong enough and skilled enough to disable any submersible that comes to close.

I had this idea in my mind for awhile. I couldn't decide if I wanted to draw a male or female so I did both! Had great fun imagining the two.
