Description
I have this image made that I named Peeled because it looks like the fractal is being split in two, like peeled bark. It has a few things about it that irritate me every time I look at it. The first time I tried to fix it, I tore it down to the bottom layer and rebuilt it into Technocracy [link] . The second time I tore it down to the base level to fix it, this emerged. After two complete rebuilds and a couple days worth of rendering, I'm at the point that Peeled will stay the way it is. If you want, I can post it later, but for the tech series, this is the final one. Time to move on and make something completely different.Ultra Fractal. Comments and critiques welcome.

I like style of your older fractals, but this one is also nice

Thanks, but what do you mean by old? I have a lot of old images with a lot of different styles.

Sorry I mean something like "Galactic Traveler" "Smoke Rings" or "The Silver Fern".

I've been meaning to do more of the fern type images. Might have to open fractal explorer this weekend and see what happens. I've only made two so far, but there are a lot of possibilities with them.

Holy shit man, what coloring algorithms did you use for the "data" small thingies?

I've never heard of the "thanks" algorithm... (I was asking a serious question, you know )

Yeah, some trade secrets I don't give up. Uniqueness means the world to me, so if I was to give up what took long hours to find, part of that uniqueness would be diminished. I'm willing to share certain techniques, but specific parts of my prints I will not disclose. For my non-printed work, ask away.

When I first looked at it I thought, "This is very reminiscent of Technocracy" then I read the description. Very cool, I like how the top blends into the bottom and they differ so greatly. The bottom kinda reminds me of the Matrix as well, you know that green stuff....Very cool man.

Thanks for taking the time to actually read the description. I wish more people would do that and full view things for all the details. Glad you noticed the difference also. In a subconscious way, I guess it was Matrix influenced. The white was for energy, so I guess that could represent being plugged into the Matrix. Funny, I never thought of that until you mentioned it.

I'm not familiar with fractal art, so I'm afraid I won't be as good as giving critiques as others on DA. However, I like the "distorted" look; like you're looking at a scene, only through a few different objects (like the spheres), so you get different angles.

Thank you. It's okay, there are a lot of people that don't understand what a fractal really is. Fractals are often misunderstood because it's a small field to work in. I do value your critique on it as if just viewing it as a piece of art and writing what you feel about it.

Cool. I don't think I could go through month after month of glitches like the last DA change.

as usual

*whistles* Sweet. At first it seems like a typical UF fractal with its smooth gradient use....but the closer I look at it, the more I find unique and interesting details to draw my eye around it.
I really love the use of green here--very calming, and yet invigorating at the same time.

Thanks. People that don't full view never really get it. Oh well, their loss. I try to put as much into a piece as I can without making it seemed cluttered.
When are people going to start calling it Borg green instead of Matrix green?

DeepChrome In reply to Aeires [2005-04-05 23:37:16 +0000 UTC]
DAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....IT IS BORG GREEN!
See, Borg green was around a long time before Matrix green. I was maybe 12, 13 years old when I saw the very first Borg episode on Next Generation, although it was ST: Voyager and ST: First Contact that really had 'em using green so heavily. Personally, I love it. Green just works for the Borg IMO.
And it works for your fractal, which does feel technology-izing, ya know?
(So don't worry, the Matrix probably just stole the green from the Borg.)

So captivating...did I ever mention how much I LOVE green, silver and black together? I love the way the silver 'pierces' against the dark green!
