your fractals have gotten me soo addicted to finding them....CAN YOU MAKE THIS ONE INTO A WALLPAPER~!!!!!!!!!!!!!..plz~!..with a cherry on top..haha..soree...if you can...thanx

Aeires In reply to litlxchopstikz [2006-03-11 05:38:27 +0000 UTC]

It depends on the formula and how it converts to a horizontal setting. I'll see what I can do.

Very nice UF work Half the battle is learning control with gradients and by the looks of things your doing very well

Aeires In reply to Mignon [2004-08-14 02:56:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I used to love the color controls until I learned about the layering. Now it feels like it's the major battle with the program. Still learning, but having fun, which I wouldn't change a bit.

Aeires In reply to exquisiteoath [2004-08-12 02:08:02 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Still learning, but I'm getting there. It offers so many options I'm kinda overwhelmed at times, but then again, so did apophysis.

Yes, I find that with many of the apps that I'm learning.

Respect man! This is beautiful! I also use UF and I think it rocks, but I think it will take me a while longer to get this good

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to Sq7 [2004-08-11 14:56:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I think the only reason I'm as far as I am (which isn't far at all, believe me) is that I did a lot of work with similar fractals. I'm approaching this the same way I approaced Apophysis, never give up. Every time I open this awesome program I'm blown away by something new.

Sq7 In reply to Aeires [2004-08-11 15:14:29 +0000 UTC]

Great job, Mr. Jeff

Aeires In reply to mrflanagan [2004-08-11 14:54:03 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I find this like FE in so many ways, just a million times more complex. I dream of the day when this becomes as friendly as FE is to me.

quietusmanifesto [2004-08-11 13:04:42 +0000 UTC]

Very nice and smooth. I could never do that with UF, don't quite understand it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to quietusmanifesto [2004-08-11 14:21:45 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. It's more experiments through trial and error for me at the moment. Add a layer, run through 50 million variables, add another layer.... from cramped mouse hands.....add another layer.... One of these days I'll remember all the really great formulas and tricks, but I downloaded all the public formulas and I have information overload right now.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quietusmanifesto In reply to Aeires [2004-08-11 18:07:34 +0000 UTC]

I don't understand how the layers work, that's probably my biggest thing.
Where can I get more formulas?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to quietusmanifesto [2004-08-12 01:47:43 +0000 UTC]

Click on options and select update public formulas. The program will download them from the UF site automatically and place them in the public formula folder. For the layers, after a new one is selected, click on either inside or outside and then hit browse to select a formula. After that you run through its parameters until you find something you like. If not, change the formula. Keep adding layers until you get something you like. It sounds simple, but some of the formulas are huge. I've taken over an hour just going through all its parameters before. Emergence was like that. The last layer had hundreds of variations. You can also change that layer from normal to overlay, screen, hard light... which makes it appear differently. Hope that helps, it's where I'm at in the program at the moment.

it is really stunning and man you're also getting the hang of that programme - it seems to me I'm the only dummy that can't - it just doesnt' do anything interesting while I'm at it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to Intervain [2004-08-11 14:24:46 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I remember someone saying that about apophysis, and then she posted some fractals that were so awesome I had to . I don't understand 90% of it, but I'm determined enough to keep hammering at it. Just glad that someone likes what I'm doing.

They look like snowflake dandylions! In a way, this almost looks like a vector, with how sharp it is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aeires In reply to Dusky-Hawk [2004-08-11 14:27:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. When I was working with it, I kinda was thinking spores being sprayed out, but I can see dandelions, the way they send their seeds to fly all over the place. Never done any vector work, but thanks for the comparison.

Dusky-Hawk In reply to Aeires [2004-08-11 14:32:10 +0000 UTC]

Never done vector work, myself, although I've seen many pieces done in the 'vector' style. I still don't understand how it's made, but ah well.
