Description
This is a functioning 8 watt per channel valve amplifier that I built. The blue bars behind the glass are UVLED-illuminated acrylic rods. Those cans on top of the amp each has a transformer in it so this sucker is small but HEAVY, and it puts off a ton of heat... but it sounds oh-so-sweet. And louder than you might expect from something with only 8 watts.I'm in the process of building a set of matching speakers, and will post them when finished.
You can see WIP photos of this project on my blog at www.coppersteam.com
Cheers!
Mike

I guess that is the essence of such machines: heavy, limited perameters and sucks energy like a hog
but it is durable, lives for ungodly amounts of time, and what it does, it does spectacularly
I've heard tubes compared to model T's and transistors compared to Ferraris, there is much to be respected when basic limited manufacturing and engineering parameters are bent to achieve so much on their own
it is greatly what made things like the AK-47 firearm line have such unyielding success...
I'm temped to think tubes would have a much bigger niche if they were enignieered smarter and smaller and fed not with limited fuel supplies, but renewable energies... which are virtually limitless (although nuclear, when done right, also could last... hundreds of millions of years without ecological threat...)

Well, It's not THAT impressive, it was a kit . But I have read up on construction of them, and the next one will be from scratch.. keep posted! Hopefully I won't blow myself up.. haha.
Cheers, and thanks!

Sure! I bought it at Tube Amp Depot.
Here's the kit I used: [link]
They sell a bunch of different levels of kits there, not too hard to put together either!
Have fun!
