All I can think is that the Librarian-the orangutan from Discworld, not Dr. Carter from ER- must have been a follower. Memory's a little fuzzy, but wasn't it banana cream pie he'd insist someone get in the face in all plays and operas in the city? Everyone complied since he'd throw things at the actors if they didn't. Hence things like Hamlet with the Banana Cream Pie Scene, or Figaro with the Banana Cream Pie Scene.
