Description
Realtime music visualizer for your Windows desktop! See demo videos on YouTube
1. Get Rainmeter for free from rainmeter.net
2. Download the skin from the right side of this page. If nothing downloads, right-click > "Open link in new tab"
3. Open the file with the green raindrop icon and click "Install" in the pop-up window
4. Left-click on the spectrum to customize settings.
v2.3 (24 Apr 2016) Full changelog - Cross-referenced changes from Fountain of Colors. Performance tweaks.
To increase precision and performance, decrease your audio device's sampling rate. Right-click volume tray icon > "Playback devices" > Follow this image
If you're updating from an older version and feel that the audio output is mistimed or unimproved, you might need to go to the settings window to apply "reset audio settings..." and tweak it from there.
If it doesn't show on the desktop, try the following:
• Open Volume Mixer and check if Rainmeter's volume is unmuted
• In the skin's installer window, check the box "Load included skins"
• In the skin's settings window, set the skin to use a different audio device
• Disable external software with sound processing and effects such as MSI Nahimic

Is there any possibility of a circular version of this being made? I love the design of it I just kinda wanted to put a round version of it on the corner of my desktop to complete a theme. I thank you in advance if you are kind enough to do this.

Hey for some reason when it gets really high its as if the peak gets cut off. imgur.com/a/HfboI heres an example, the top just suddenly gets cut off in a straight line. It's not like this is too important but i was wondering if there's a fix for this

Very Nice Visualizer Skin!!!!!
Check out how I "edited" for my liking. I basically put 3 frost with clones and changed their colors.
Is there a way to change colors within the visualizer? without cloning doubles?

Here’s the mail I got recently for my problem
Yeah, well.... This is a week old computer and I have been getting the system service exception constantly.... it is definitely related to Internet because that's when it happens... no idea what is causing it but it is continual. Hope Microsoft figures this out.... seems I'm not the only one... I am an IT manager so not an idiot when it comes to the computer.
Or otherwise try this: www.deskdecode.com/system-serv…

Would it be possible to make it go around in a circle? I looked at the code and I have no clue where to begin if I tried myself.
Also, this visualizer is by far the BEST of any other I've seen. It's creative, artistic, and still simple.

Hello, sorry to bother but i have a problem configuring this: each time i open frost settings window, 1 CPU core goes 100% and rainmeter just freezes for more than a minute at times. this also happens when i change tabs (in settings) from disply to any other, or when i select a submenu.
idk why this is happening so any help would be appreciated.
LE. the freeze also happens if i just click the spectrum while everything else except for youtube music and rainmeter is closed.

This visualiser is fantastic or any aurora themed desktops but I seem to be having an issue with the smooth ends feature, particularly at the upper limit.
I wanted to produce 3 separate visualisers of different colours each resembling the lows, mids and highs of the sound output. Having attempted to use the clones to produce this effect to no avail I resorted to making 2 duplicates of the original plugin.
However, the lows and mids visualisers have sharp edges on their upper limits, despite smooth ends being enabled. The lower limits of all 3 visualisers have their ends smoothed.
If its of any use, the boundaries between the visualisers' bands are 200hz and 1000hz

BobbyBrony In reply to alatsombath [2016-05-24 21:15:58 +0000 UTC]
Sorry I didn't reply sooner.
Since you mentioned you couldn't recreate the issue I did some testing myself and I think I've found the cause of the clipping: It seems to happen when the number of peaks are raised above the default value of 21
I recreated the issue I was having with a fresh install of the visualiser: i.imgur.com/8GOyF56.png
The left half of the image is the visualiser with all default variables and the right half is the same visualiser with the number of samples raised 67.
I hope this helps

This is definitely my favorite music visualizer and I have gotten it to work flawlessly every time. The only thing I would love to edit is the color to change as the peaks get higher but I haven't figured out if this is possible.

Hey, great work! I love the visualizer. But I have a problem with the clone. I use 2 vertically visualizers which one of them is a clone. Everytime I open a program (most times a game) in fullscreen the clone starts to change its position by about 10-20 pixels. I tried to change it back in Rainmeter but the new position is fixed. The position it normally has is 3540 (highest possibly position) and after the bug it's something about 3530 which means that there is a little gap. Can't set it any further than the new position (3529 is possible; 3531 isn't). There is a way to reset it by opening the Frost options menu and clicking on the tabs "audio/extras/etc." often enough because that changes the position as well. After some time it will be setted back to the original position.
I am really not into programing and hope you can help me with my problem.
Cheers
Black
Edit: Aah damn. Nevermind found a easy fix. Uncheck in Rainmeter the option "Keep on screen" for the visualizer. The only thing I didn't try till now -_-
