Amazing tutorial! =^w^= But I have a question, tho, how do you blend the shadows/highlights into areas such as the skin or such? I was told to be carefull when using the "smudge" tool, since it'll look too conspiquous.. I have CS3 too, so I'm trying to get used to the tools...any tips?

Thank you very much - your stuff is incredible, especially in realism!

I saw that you said "I usually set [the lines] to multiply and then color under them, and then fade them out as I work until they're gone completely!" Since you select regions, make new layers, and lock transparency, do you have little gaps where the lines WERE when you fade them out?

Thank you so much for the tutorial ;D
I just have one question: After you put in the basic colors, do you erase or hide your lineart layer?
Thanks

yeah, same question i wanted to ask

when you block, do you fill it with paintbucket, or hand paint it?

This is absolutely phenomenal! Not just your work, but how you explain everything and break it down. It's really useful for any kind of artist.Β I especially love the emphasis you put on not cutting corners, and it definitely shows in the completed work. You are an inspiration

I have a question, and sorry if it's been asked :<
did you color on the same layer as the lines or perhaps over it?
I don't see them when you zoom in, but they might just be too light.

Anyway- great tutorial- I will definitely be trying some of your suggestions 8D

My brain is filled with more knowledge. Thank you, I enjoyed learning a bit of your process. You really made it easier for me to understand a lot of basic digital painting techniques I hadn't really grasped. My attempts at digital painting have all been fairly frustrating as I never really knew where to start. This really helps. Glad that I took the time to read this, as it looked kind of daunting at first.

I'd want to add something to this great tutoarial, though:
It can be helpful to draw a lot of different poses instead of just working on one in the sketch phase. My experience is that you may stick to one pose too early without trying out different things, so it may be better to do a lot of very small stick figure-like sketches when you can't really decide which way to go. (It happens to me all the time that I settle to one pose too early, so I have to force myself to do it in another way.)
