Description
The Type 1 Light Battlestar or Alpha–class Light Battlestar was the first designed to be designation as a Battlestar and entrance service in 6330. Original seen as an extension of the ship to ship warfare that plague the Colonies pre-Cylon War (also known as the Thousand Yahrens War) the Alpha–class is designed as an extension of the Battleship hint the named Battlestar. The Type 1 like all Light Battlestar is between 800m and 1000m. Unique to the Type 1 is doesn’t carried launches tubes as it was designed before the development of the Starhound–class Viper. Its Viper launches like Raptor and shuttle. Also the Type 1 doesn’t have the enclosed flight pods like later design possess because forcefield technology didn’t exist at the time of its development. Only six was constructed before the construction was cancel in favor of the Type 2 Medium Battlestar. The six didn’t perform well against the Cylons early in the war. The shortcutting of the Alpha–class lead to the Type 3 Battlestar having launches tubes for quick Vipers development.
The Battlestar Argus is an example of a Type 1 Light Battlestar.

Gundam1701, in Battlestar Galactica the original series time was giving as, "The Seventh Millennium of Time," meaning at least 7000 years. The war with the Cylons had been waging on for at least 1000 years (yahrens). The only date giving in the series is 7322 when the Cylon attacked Umbra causing Starbuck to become an orphaned. So 6330 would be 1018 years before the destruction of the Colonies. So it would be the Sixth Millennium of Time.
I want to apologized for the delay response. I hadn't been login into my deviant art account anymore.

That would place the series in the BC Era. They haven't reached Earth until the year 1980 AD...and that moon transmission Apollo picked up at the end of the series came from the year 1969 AD. That means the further to go towards Earth, the more time passes

First, I don't counted Galactica 1980 within my original BSG-canon. Beside there are some issues with them finding Earth in 1980. The moon landing was in 1969, so 1980 is eleven years after that. However, it said it been 30 years, that number would be right giving how much Boxey/Troy had age (7 to 37) which mean Boxey was born in 1943 and the Colonies was destroyed in 1950 (on the Earth Calendar) but giving it been only a year at the end of Season 1, please explained to me the 19 years gap in time? Assuming the 1950 date is correct then that mean the Type 1 was launched in the human year of 932 AD (not BC). Even if you used the 2/3 yarhen is equal to 1 earth-year that still mean Boxey is 25 and it been 20 years since the destruction of the Colonies, so 1960. which still leave a time gap. Plus how was they received the transmission in 1951 or 1961 if it didn't happened until 1969? Plus Boomer said in the original series that there is no telling how long that transmission being travelling through space. What again mean Galactica 1980 screw up.
