That is true, but they kind of overpowered him in that movie. I mean He's blasted Hedorah with his Atomic Fire, Beam, Ray... whatever. Before and it didn't do much. All of a sudden it's near one-shotting him along with Ebirah. So I'm just going to go on and say he was rather overpowered.
Yeah, but the melting down was more to show that even the strongest of monsters can still die. Possibly that no matter how badass you are, there's always something out there that's stronger. So you have something new to rise up to.
and I have not seen Gamera at all.

It IS Hedorah and Ebirah
He was melting down because of more radiation then he can handle. that's not "something stronger killing you", its "going out like a badass"
a flying turtle that is "friend to all children"

Still Hedorah would've killed Godzilla the first time they met, now it's him being one shotted by him. Just a bit inconsistent. But then again Godzilla has gotten stronger since they first met so it's not too improbable. Not to mention Ebirah kind of impaled Hedorah with a claw when he got blasted into Hedorah.
Well can you say that if he didn't go into Meltdown he could've beaten Destoroyah? Still went down like a Badass though.
I know of him but as I haven't seen one of his movies/show whichever he has I can't draw a final conclusion. But sure... I'll follow yours until I see it for myself.

Well seeing as of how Zilla Jr. swims across the world several times and in only an hour to a couple hours in distances that would take ships weeks to even months of travel. Some of the best swimmers might've once used Water Wings. You've got to remember just how young Zilla Jr. is compared to Godzilla. At most Zilla Jr. is a couple of years old. But the point still stands that he can kick Kaiju proportioned asses just like Godzilla. Sure at times he's been brash... he even had 'Infantile Tantrums' one episode. But he can still think like a battler.
If you say this is impossible. Look at Seraphina from Eragon. Not even a year old and she's already smarter than most adults. It just so happens that Zilla focused more on his battle tactics than he did on his philosophy.
If you say that Seraphina is unrelated to this. She actually is unrelated, I was only using her as an example of thinking on a higher level than their age would normally dictate.

You know, I know this movie sucked, and A lot of people hate Zilla. But I love Zilla because that film was my first taste of godzilla. And frankly I'm still in love. As for the green I don't mind the shade of green, it helps to differentiate them.

That was another person's opinion on the old Zilla. Now if it was Zilla Jr. vs Godzilla, we'd have a much longer, harder fight.

Matters which one you use. Zilla would die quickly. On the other hand his son Zilla Jr. has the best shot against any of the Godzilla incarnations. Well the Heisai Godzilla has a Super form. Equal match if Zilla Jr. Fights Big G.

Zilla is actually a gray blue with bits of turquoise. And he did not have a scar. As for the winner of an actual fight, i would have to say the original because not only is he bigger, he has more mass and has more powers.

Nice face-off! The colors and good and the attitude expressed on the faces are really engaging. Personally I don't understand why fans aren't receptive to Zilla. Someone care to explain to me why, besides the movie being typically Hollywood? Just why the monster himself didn't work.
Thanks for sharing!

There is no "should" or "shouldn't". You either like the 1998 film/creature or you don't. Don't let the majority of fans control your personal opinions. It's good that you arent afraid of expressing your opinions though, and I respect that. I indeed love the 1998 film and its Godzilla, in my opinion, it is a masterpiece and the best Godzilla film I've seen. This is my opinion, and I hope you'll respect it, as I respect yours.

As much as I hate to admit it on THIS TOPIC, he's right :U Still, they should've just called him Zilla in the first place. It wasn't at all a bad movie, come to think, but the fact that it was supposed to be Godzilla is what mutilated its appreciation among fans.
The reason I admitted that was because I enjoyed Sonic 06 >_> it's one of my favorite games (partially in sympathy).

If they gave him the originals attitude and ferocity, as well as his powers, it would have done better. And they should not have made him a lizard.

Well not an iguana, no. It shouldn't have been in New York, nor should he have been hunched over. He's more raptor-like in that stupid movie -_- It would be cool as a completely different character, maybe in some games, but the fact that they tried to make it Godzilla was just... appalling.

Zilla is a monster that appeared in the 2004 film "Godzilla: Final Wars" and which later also appeared in the 2013 comic book "Godzilla: Rulers of Earth". The creature has nothing to do with the 1998 American film "GODZILLA" as the creatures in that film are named Godzilla. Zilla is the Japanese version of that American creature, but it has absolutely nothing to do with it, except that Zilla and Godzilla (1998) belongs to the same American Godzilla character/design. But they are two different monsters.

Leviathantamer In reply to Pellchinnn [2014-03-20 05:23:47 +0000 UTC]
Actually the name Zilla comes from the original makers of Godzilla who saw the movie. They dubbed the incarnation as 'Zilla' because "they took the God out of Godzilla."

Pellchinnn In reply to Leviathantamer [2014-03-20 09:50:14 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, I see no contradiction to my statement in your reply. It was when they brought the American Godzilla design into the Japanese franchise that they had to rename it as "Zilla", seeing as they appearantly wanted it to appear in GFW but still only wanted one Godzilla in the film. "Zilla" is also the title they will use for future incarnations of the American Godzilla-design in future merchandise set in the Japanese franchise. I still think this was all messed up, and including the American Godzilla in the same universe as the Japanese Godzilla (especially only for the sake of being a parody and a fan-service) ended up insulting both the Japanese and American franchises. They shouldn't have messed with the American creature at all, they should have just left it alone, and they could have done a much better movie than Final Wars to celebrate Godzilla's 50th anniversary. Anyhow, here's hoping the new Godzilla-film will stay focused on the original 1954 film and ignore all other Godzilla-films. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm hoping it will be much better than Final Wars and worthy of being a celebration of Godzilla's 60th anniversary. I also heard Gareth Edwards had an interest in a sequel, which is interesting, but I'm sceptical about how great that would be.

Oh yeah, apparently in this one. They're going WAY back to the roots. Before he became something of an Anti-hero. Still defending the humans even though they hate him (albeit wrecking cities in the process). In this one they're going back to the roots of him being a force of nature. Something you never thought you'd have to fight.

Indeed! Like I said, I'm really looking forward to it, the trailers already look awesome, and I hope the film will be even better. And now I came to remember something, I was a little incorrect when I stated that I hoped it would "ignore all other Godzilla-films", considering the Legendary Godzilla's design is a mix of every Godzilla-design through the years, and I think they've really nailed it, they even included design-features from the 1998 Godzilla (which of course to some is a bit disturbing, but not to me though).

The monster in the 1998 American "remake" (or as many fans like to call it, a blemish on a good name ) of Godzilla. For the movie GODZILLA: FINAL WARS, it officially became a separate character (rather than a complete redesign), known as Zilla, since it didn't really live up to the name GODzilla. The cartoon that followed the movie, on the other hand, truly made him worthy of the name (though many fans refer to it as Zilla, Jr.).
