Since G-Fest is next week, I figured it's about time to throw this bad boy out there. Yeah, this one I've had done for a while, I just wanted y'all to get hyped up with the sketchy.
Anywho, This one didn't take as long as I'd have thought it would, especially since I "inked" it digitally with a mouse (nope, I still ain't got a tablet). But I tell ya what, it was hella fun doing this one.

Very KOOL Artwork.Β I am just recently getting into the whe Kaiju Craze. All because of my love for Digimon. Kaiju remind me of a mutated form or certain Digimon.
Just one thing I noticed, this is Space Godzilla from other art like Kaijusamurai . Super Godzilla is more purple and Godzilla like looking.

A few Digimon (and even Pokemon) were inspired by several kaiju from the old days. Gomora, from the Ultraman franchise, was a major inspiration for Greymon. Dorako (Ultraman) and/or Gigan (Godzilla), being mantis-inspired and sporting scythes for forelimbs, inspired Scyther. And a more blatant example, Nidoking and Nidoqueen bear a very uncanny resemblance to Baragon. Just to name a few.
And speaking of inspirations, Matt Frank (Kaiju Samurai) is a good friend of mine and has been a HUGE inspiration to my entire artistic career. Goes without saying I heavily studied his style.

Alright cool .. that's news to me about how they were designed. And I kind of thought that was his name from the signature. Do you know him personally , or from online here. Also I noticed your artwork has the initials RF that's yours i'm assuming.
I have a question I wanted to ask him about this idea I had. To take just the Kaiju from his art (I would give him credit) and put them together with Digimon pictures that they Mutant Evolved to. Its an idea I had and I think it would look cool , not ALL of them just certain ones I have picked out. I mean you (anyone) can use pictures of Digimon from its website as long as they didn't take credit for drawing them.

What are the different series like this Heisei , I am kind of new to Kaiju. I think when I saw Pacific Rim that caught my attention even moreΒ because I love Dragons and Monsters.

SpaceG (as well as most of the kaiju originally from the Heisei series) is a woefully underused Godzilla monster. Lets hope he makes a comeback in the movies.

Super cool, looks a lot more realistic this way. Especially with the shoulder design you gave him. I think the head might need to look scarier, but I really think it looks fine as it is.

Wow ray thats just epic!! the colors are just simply amazing! i also really love your redesign of him a lot, its very unique and cool since you replaced his enormous amount of fat with massive muscles. the background is simply amazing too, it really matches awesomely with the piece and look beautiful. and the details are just epic on this one. really really awesome job on this one ray, it came out absolutely phenomenal
