It's Friday and that can only mean one thing : New Batch of characters for the LEGO Disney Universe Project! I'm sure it means something else for everyone else, but that's what it means for me, at least. Anyway, let's get to the characters ;

52. DOCTOR FACILIER

One of the most recent, yet most appreciated Disney Villains makes the cut, with Doctor Facilier himself taking his rightful spot in this ensemble. Getting him right was all but easy, mainly because the LEGO palette lacked an appropriate purple that I could use for his suit, so I went with a dark red which I think gets the job done. I'm not entirely happy with his face decal, but let's say I'm overall happy with him.

53. DONALD DUCK

Like I did for Mickey, the 'normal' version of Donald has its design taken from the 2013 series 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦. The minifigure looks similar to the official one, with a few differences found in the eyes and the color palette, and also in the torso design. Not much else to say here, Donald was a lock for this roster, naturally. Besides, I always had a soft spot for this duck.

54. DONALD DUCK (CLASSIC)

The Classic version of Donald also makes the cut, mainly because this is the official look of his Minifigure. You may argue that the two designs are too similar, and while that might be true this happened already in some other LEGO Games, for example in LEGO DC Super-Villains, where we had two Supermans, one with an original design and one from the official Minifigure so ... there's that.

In wrapping up this batch, I'd like to point out that earlier today, LEGO announced an official Steamboat Willie Set, featuring Mickey Mouse with his old look, so I'll always live with the bittersweet notion that this Project will forever feature an outdated version of Steamboat Mickey. But hey, I'm at least happy that this set is being made.
