The Amalgamation Universe is a Sci-Fi videogame crossover universe that has it's own expanded lore, galaxy map, timeline and comics.

“Most of the crew - not to mention your fellow jarheads - will be leaving the ship in lifeboats. They'll ride to the surface in air conditioned comfort, sipping wine, and nibbling on appetizers. Not you, however. Oh no, you're going to leave the Pillar of Autumn in a different method. Tell me boys and girls… how will you leave?”
— Major Antonio Silva, aboard UNSC Pillar of Autumn.
“We go feet first, sir!”
— Shock Trooper's response.

In the Amalgamation Universe the UNSC has three branches, the mechforce, the Navy and the Marines. The ODST's (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) are the Marines Special Forces of this universe much like they are in the traditional halo universe. To put it simply in the eyes of a regular soldier the ODST's are a special breed of brave and stupid, where the soldier straps himself into a coffin and gets propelled deep into enemy territory from a ship in orbit, that's if he even survives the trip! Nick names for the ODST's include "helljumper" "coffin jockey" and "absolute fucking dickhead" but say that last one to one's face and see who it's true for. ODST's are used as force multipliers for regular ground units, often increasing both the effectiveness and morale of those they fight beside. Other times there strange methods of operation and combat insertion allow them to conduct missions against targets even other unconventional special forces can't approach.

BACKGROUND STORY:
UNKOWN PLANET, 2171
A platoon of Helljumpers were sent in to secure a Cerberus facility which had been uncovered by UEGA intelligence. What the squad's didn't know was that the whole thing was a trap, but not sprung by Cerberus. The troops hit the ground hard and fast as usual, and came out of there pods with enemy fire, dirt and rain in there visored faces. Cerberus was known for having some of the most well trained commando's in it's ranks so they didn't under-estimate there enemy, but there enemy under-estimated them. ODST's typically come from other Special Forces units and thus have already gone through a level of screening and have already served in combat before joining, giving them an edge the other branches don't have. They took the facility with very little casualties but once they were inside they discovered something remarkable even for Cerberus; the deceased and intact body of a Yautja, recovered with all of it's technology! The Yautja had been a grief for humanity ever since the time of the Pyramids and no one had ever defeated one without it setting off it's self-destruct mechanism, not even after humanity propelled itself into the stars, but here one was lying across a medical table here with it's guts cut open. When humanity began to develop more advanced technology from Prothean origin the Predators only saw it as better game and continued hunting humans as they traversed the stars and colonised worlds. When the Platoon leader tried to call in there findings they discovered that there comms were jammed, and that's when they heard the first scream. The Yautja figured they could use this scenario to there advantage when they found where and who had taken the body, but instead of sending there own to bring back the body why not summon more humans, enemies to these Cerberus, and use the victors as tested honourable prey for a young-blood hunt? Killing two birds with one stone so to speak.
When the UNSC sent in some of it's finest warriors, the ones who hurled themselves from starships in oneway pods, the Yautja Young-Bloods were licking there mandibles for the prizes they could acquire; ODST Helmets were considered to be very prestigious trophies to the Yautja society ever since the inception of this kind of human warrior. The Yautja were aware of the prowess and relentless of there foe and so struck hard without mercy. The ODST's responded with tactics and training they had been taught specifically for dealing with Yautja.

From Wiki-
The idea of inserting highly trained troops behind enemy lines from high altitudes has its roots in the paratroopers of 20th and 21st century fame, who dropped frequently behind enemy lines to capture strategically important targets in anticipation for a larger advance by more conventional and numerous military forces.
Such troops were first used prior to World War II by Italian and Soviet forces, but the first serious application of the doctrine was seen in 1940 by the German Air Force in World War II to overrun the Allied positions in Denmark, the Netherlands and the legendary Eben Emael fortress in Belgium. Later, during the Battle of Normandy on June 6, 1944, when two American Airborne Divisions and one British Airborne Division landed behind enemy lines in Normandy, France on D-Day and again in Operation Market Garden. Although they were only marginally successful, they proved the concept of paratroops as useful and effective in large scale warfare.

Thank you Wynet!
I do think it turned out a lot better, I'm gonna re-composite all of my main none-comic images just because I still have all the blend files so it'll be quick/easy

This looks to be absolutely stunning than before with the pods looking better and the Yautja hunters harder to spot.

I wonder if the UNSC here has a class of flamethrower units like the Hellbringers (vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/h… , www.halopedia.org/images/b/b5/… )?

Sure, why not?
But I won't be looking for a model for one anytime soon lol

Ah if it isn't Halo's regular steel balled hero's. In my opinion the only people cooler than Spartans.
True Spartans are better soldiers and do some crazy stuff and save the universe on a semi-regular basis: these guys do that and do it as regular humans.
Keep dropping buddies!
Keep dropping

I agree, as I was writing this I asked myself "Am I giving these guys special attention? And is it noticeable?... ah screw it, ODST's are badass!"
IMO they really screwed up Spartan 4's. Spartan 2's and 3's were badass because of there attitude. All S2's were like Chief; stoic, quiet, and badass. Well trained beyond anything even a Helljumper was capable of without there augmentations anyway because of there intense training since they were 6
S3's were the same although they allowed for a little bit more humanity since they weren't brainwashed like the S2's and volunteered, some were a bit older too, 7-8 or maybe even 9 years old. That's why Noble Team was still stoic but had a bit of humanity too them.
The S4's were a mess. They're SUPPOSED to be the amalgamation of ODST's and Spartans. Most of the Spartan ranks come from the Helljumpers, but imo it's in there attitude where they fail. ODST's have an awesome "fuck you I'm a hardcase" attitude, Spartans are stoic and steely, and S4's are giving out high fives at the end of a war game simulation in Halo 5 like twelve year olds wtf?
They should of made S4's more like the ODST's in terms of attitude.
Glad you like it though

Hopefully some of the Spartan II and III OCs will be able to comment on the IVs as well. Heck I hope that there are some IVs that show redeemable qualities that makes them true Spartans instead of just another soldier with fancy armor paddings and snazzy weapons while acting like untested and young recruits. Also the ODSTs weren't the only ones to join the Spartan IV ranks, the recruits are drawn from both career military veterans and young soldiers who show considerable promise along with several Spartan IIIs who joined with them. For more info on the recruitment process of the independent military branch known as Spartan Operations this link may provide some answers (www.halopedia.org/Spartan_Oper… ). Though sadly even Oro would think the Spartan IVs are too young to be deployed in the advanced levels of combat against the more serious and deadly dangers of the galaxy due to how many of them are.

Yeah I am well aware that the S4's fill there ranks from a variety of branches and stuff, I said "most" because a good majority of S4's are ODST's, supposedly.
But I agree, they come off as young and inexperienced and it's off putting.

I hope they at least put up some sort of fight against not only the Created, but for when the Flood arrives in the galaxy for round two against the galaxy since the Ark.

Crimson didn't talk much and acted like Spartans imo lol but that's because the game never showed them talking, Crimson is just whoever is playing them in Spartan Ops.

And Majestic didn't get much attention in Spartan Ops ad a little more in the Halo: Escalation comics. I wonder if the other IVs are taking notes on these teams, especially when they are training on various ships, worlds, and space stations such as Anvil station.

The S4's do put up a good fight though, they always have. Fireteam Majestic, Crimson, and Osiris kick heaps of ass
it's just the style in which they do it kinda sucks, though Osiris was alright I guess, a step in the right direction.
