An amazing picture of him...proud but such a haunted look on his face.
I enjoyed reading about him while I was coloring and adding stuff to the pic and I would recommend (if you're into war stuff) to do likewise

Although a pilot ( a couple of them I think) claimed that they had killed him...still a bit of a mystery who got him...infantry or aircraft

Well he got fired at by a plane, then he had a Lewis gun fire a few shots at him and then a Vickers Machine Gun.

I think that the powers that be kinda preffered the story that a pilot had killed him...air chivalry I guess...but I seem to remember a history channel program that said that an infantry machine gun (tyvm for the vickers info) was the more likely...which you mentioned earlier of course

I still think the upper class top brass preferred an officer and a gentleman in a daredevil air joust killing the vaunted Red Baron than your common and garden infantryman

Yeah...although your infantry/vickers thingy is more plausable...especially as von Richtofen flew so very low during and after his dogfight...very out of character btw
