These are the holy words Euphrati Keeler.She was a remembrancer attached to the 63rd Expeditionary Force in the closing months of the Great Crusade.
As a result of later events, she would later be canonized as one of the first Saints of the Imperial Cult.

Well, the REAL story actually doesn't pick up until the 3rd book. After that, the campaign begins, and each book follows a different group withing the conflict as their part plays out.

I'll eventually check it out as time and money allows, call me crazy though I've never been a 'space marine' fan. They're cool and an iconic thing for 40k wouldn't be awesome without em, I just dont much care to read about em at least from their point of view anyways. Only one I really found great was Battle for(of?) the Fang. After that I'm really an Imperial Guard fan, dont get me wrong I like Astartes but for me it's much cooler seeing them from the perspective of a normal human being, makes me seem that much more unstoppable.

One of my faves is the one entitled 'Fulgrim'...about the fall to chaos of the Emperors Children...takes in the dropsite massacre too...really excellent book bud which I recommend
