Author's Note: Ooof, neglected this for a bit. I completely forgot what hung me up in the edit. Anyway, a little snapshot of action and we learned more about Truscott; his warrior background was already alluded to but more than that he appears to have training in a school of restoration. As a Champion of one of the Proctors, he is blessed with more powerful magic than the average non-wizardly type. If you want to sling fantasy game lingo at me, I guess he's a "paladin" but I don't like that term and prefer "knight-cleric." I know it's basically the same thing but this term has a certain stricture to it that I like.

Not much changed, other than the shield, and the funny part of that is because I was forgetful. In the edit, I forgot to mention he was carrying a shield in the original story until I posted the new one. Rather than going back to make an edit that probably nobody would see, I just had him acquire a shield. Which actually worked out to have some storytelling aspects that will come up later!

Again, here are some lore notes:

- Proctors: The 13 Proctors make up the pantheon of mouse religiosity. Each one represents two facets of a particular aspect of the mouse way of life. As an added note, each of the Proctors are non-binary in order to avoid schisms in their interpretations.
- Yvrene: The Proctor of Light & Shadows. Yvrene is a balance between light and darkness, with just as much sway over restoration and rejuvenation and they are of the manipulation of shadows. As such, many knight-clerics bow to them while some thieves might worship them for stealth spells. As well, many farmers pay them particular reverence as light and shade are crucial to their crops.
- Champions: Mice who devote themselves to a particular Proctor, netting blessings and powers to one or both facets that the Proctor governs.
