Author's Note: Oof, too long since I updated this. Writer's block has been a big pain in my little ass. I don't have too much to say about this one, other than I added in a little bit new stuff here, and moved a conversation between Truscott and Hood up to this chapter from a later on. The reveal of Truscott's past is sooner in this one than in the latter; it just makes more narrative sense.

As always, a little lore!

- Grand Crusaders: several mice who rose to prominent command positions during the Crusades and hold a popular image in the realms of mice.
- Homeport & the Sixth Conglomerate: one of the capitals of the Sixth Conglomerate, a democratic coalition of six highly militant mouse kingdoms on the far northern coast.
- The Red Mouse: a moniker created by the Sixth Conglomerate's enemies to refer to Truscott, derived from his distinctive crimson helmet.
