Description
Couldn't think of a better name for this, so I'm just going to call it Craig. It's similar to Korean in one very important respect, but it actually came out of an attempt to do an inverse abjad. Where an abjad has full letters for consonants and points for vowels, I thought of having full letters for vowels and points for consonants. Unfortunately I don't actually speak any languages whose phonology would allow that kind of writing system to function--even the least permissive phonotactics have too many and too complex consonant clusters for it to work. So I organized it into syllable blocks, and it works a lot better now, although as you can see from words like "blank" (or worse, "blanks" *shudder* ) it's still a challenge. This was a fun proof of concept, though, and if I added some more letters for the most frequent clusters and simplified others it would be easier still. Perhaps even actually functional.Related content

English works just fine with inverted abjads, as long as you enjoy dense flurries of pointing.
