Amazing. It looks like you took the picture while standing on the water.

Very nice ... I wish there were a bit more fresh snow then I would go down there as well. But snow is rare this winter even here in Austria.

Damn ... I missed this one. Do you live close to Plitvice?

I live in Zagreb, capital of Croatia. Its about 150km from Plitvice.
Now, I think it's only about 20cm of snow left. By the end of the week, temperatures will rise and snow will probably be gone.

Ah ... of course I know Zagreb. I have to drive past it whenever I go down to Plitvice. I just thought that maybe you lived closer to the National Park.

Nope. But I must say I was disappointed how everything was closed. Except that boat that drives across the lake. Hotels closed, restaurants closed, nothing to offer except beautiful nature. Sufficient, but not enough. Big failure for tourist board.
Btw. If you like landscapes, you should also visit Lake Bled in Slovenia (two links) and our Adriatic coast

When I was there last year and it had over 70cm of snow it was even worse. Not only was everything closed, the parking lots were not usable and the paths were not cleaned from the snow - no boats of course. I had to hike back to the main falls with my snow shoes for 90 minutes while always sinking in to my knees. I was pretty exhausted back there.
I know Lake Bled - we always go past it when we go down to Bohinj and the Mostnica Gorge. Last year we also saw it from the other side when we drove to the Vintgar Gorge. The lake is nice just a little too civilized for me - I like nature as pure as possible (unfortunately a hard thing to find these days in Central Europe).
