Description
This is my 4th homemade crossbow, and this is the most powerful one. I changed the umbrella parts to three steel plates, and taped them together. The other main change is the weapons body. It is made of aluminium wall edge protectors. I used paracord for the string. The foregrip is wooden, and the pistol grip was a bicycle handle. The stock is made of a piece of wood, with steel rods.Some data about the crossbow:

Although a definite improvement from the previous versions, it looks like you are wasting some of the potential of the single front limb.
Try cutting the limb in to two pieces, vertically. This will allow you to mount the limbs higher up with a bit of a gap the center; through which you can fire the bolts. As things are currently you are losing some of the spring tension from the single limb downwards in to the body of the crossbow when you fire it. If you raise up the limbs (and center the string in the middle of the limbs) you should be able to get the string to sit slightly above the body of the crossbow, even when everything is in the unloaded state. This should result in all of the force propelling the bolt forwards, and not wasting any force down in to theΒ body.
