I did not put my highest effort into this, but I think that helps.
So yeah, I have never read that fanfic, and I don't plan to anytime soon. But I have recently got an idea on how I can tip the hat to it in the most butchering-the-premise way possible. Not unlike this video: [link]
I know absoultely nothing and my facts are somewhat wrong, but heck, that's the darn point of this. Laugh at my idiocy!
All my information was glimpsed from snippets of info from the various works people like Stormbadger & Glaber have added among the web, listings on TV Tropes, and various mentions of the stories on blogs & forums & the like. Between that and this comic was my pure logical, deducting mind.
I might make this a series. Who knows, but I at least want to do Past Sins in a similar style.

I guess Lord of the Rings didn't make much sense to you either, then. They're about the same length, ignoring The Hobbit.
F'kin hilarious, even if it's not really accurate. You got the gist of it and had amusing pictures, and that's really what counts at the end of the day.
And while I know you said you don't care (and everyone else has commented on it as well, it seems) the 'whiskey-group' is from an offshoot story (recursive fan-fiction, if you like TV tropes) that is more or less only tangentially related.

The "Whiskey drinking guy" is the hero of a fanfic written about Fallout Equestria, not a part of Fallout Equestria itself. Keeping those two seperated is quite important, imho.

A few notes, Blackjack (Queen Whiskey) and Littlepip only meet in the noncanon and almost twice as long, Project Horizons (Seeing as how Blackjack is from Project Horizons and all). Also Rainbow Dash isn't still alive. It's never really said what ultimately happens to her though. And finally Fluttershy doesn't stop being a tree until after Littlepip has left the group. Otherwise you're pretty much right.

Well... you've got some of the details right.
Though, Fluttershy never joins Littlepip's party, Rainbow Dash's status is never explored, Blackjack (aka whisky guy) is both from a completely different story and is a mare, and yadda yadda.

But I have to admit, even though I'm not a fan of the source material, this got a few laughs out of me. Being unfamiliar with the story being summarized here probably worked in my favor as well, since it made the summarized events (AND THEN THE PONY WAS A TREE) seem all the more ridiculous and, thus, hilarious. And the references I did get, such as Aliens, the Bullet Bill, The Sacrifice, and Meet The Medic, made it all the more amusing... as well as the Precision F-Strikes of a summarizer who has no more idea of what's going on than I do!

That was ultimately intentional, too. My first impression of the character from various glimpses was that she was male, and while I was thinking of correcting myself, I think it's funnier to keep my earlier ideas at the forefront.
