This is Zazu. He's pretty much my favorite character in The Lion King movie. This nibblet of information was made clear to me after seeing the Lion King on Broadway (actually it was in San Fransico but it was the original Broadway cast so I guess it's still kind of true). This drawing is from a scene from the new version of the Lion King movie where Zazu gets a solo called "Morning Report". The reason he looks so angry is because Simba has his tail in his mouth right now. But since Simba isn't my favorite character I only wanted to draw Zazu. I drew this with a regular pencil and I colored it with watercolor pencils.Painting (c) Jessie

Are you kidding?! Zazu is awesome!!! I love his dry humor and deadpan personality! The actor who plays him in the stage production is amazingly funny too. It is good to find another who shares this love.

Deadpan is lacking in emotion when one speaks among other forms of communication. Now, don't get me wrong, Zazu absolutely has personality and emotion when he speaks, but you have to admit that compared to someone like Timon and Pumbaa, he's definitely not as animated (so to speak ^^).

I never knew that! Wow, that's hard for me to believe too. 
I haven't seen any new episodes lately, but I still love the show, I'm just the wrong person to talk to about the newer ones.

'Tis French for "meow." Yes, we actually learned animal sounds in our French class, complete with a French version of "Old McDonald" which was very fun.
