I decided that my previous line art tutorial was pretty old and needed updating. So here is my line art tutorial version 2!!

This is for Paint tool SAI, however there is information here that isn't limited to SAI.

I was going to add manga studio ex 5/ clip studio (same program) but until a lot of people are using it I think I'll wait. If you do have any questions about line art in this program feel free to ask me

Also please excuse any typos.....

uhhh making tutorials always drains all my energy.... i was so happy once this was finished. (;-_-)ノ

If you have any questions I'll try my best to answer

For some reason, when I ink over my lineart it doesn't always darken.

I hope this isn't a silly question.. XD <3 I just got Clip Studio Paint last night and I was wondering: how do you color the existing line art another color? I've read some stuff about clipping layers but I'm not sure exactly how to do that quite yet. @ v @;;

Hi~

so, you create another layer above the lineart layer and press the icon I circled and just colour that layer however you want
 (click on the image to see it larger)

I am glad that someone asked this question and thanks for the tip too! I started to use CPS a little while ago, but without tutorials out there it's a little disorienting to use it.

Your most welcome!
I always draw on paper first and then scan it. Just like as in your example I couldn't change the hair back then, but now I know how to do that.

It's a pain. ;__; But I can't draw digital so I have to draw everything on paper first.
