nice perspective. (just to show the apple, without a witch).

Lovely. I like your nods to Rackham with your line and colouring. I love the broom - I can almost feel how prickly it is!

I agree with what others have said--very Rackham-esque! I love that you were able to get this effect digitally--so inspiring!

I would never have guessed this wasn't a watercolor if you hadn't said so -
one of the Golden Age illustrators too. It's lovely.

Aww, thanks for your kind words Susan!!Β Β Β
I would have loved to paint this in watercolor, but there was no time for it unfortunately.. However, I'm glad you noticed my attempt to give it a watercolor-like feeling!Β

The line drawing is beautiful in its own right, with wonderful details. But I really love the colored version, with such dark moody colors, and that one little dash of bright red on the apple.

Quite old-fashioned style ... kind of Rackham fairy tale-esque.

Thanks! Yes - I was very inspired by old-fashined styles here (including Rackham). I hope you like it anyway Β Β

Very lovely! I like that you've chosen to keep the queen disguised as crone out of the picture, showing just her old hand with the apple, that keeps the focus on Snow's choice, and you can see her hesitation in the movement of her hand.

Thank you so much, I'm so happy that you noticed those things and liked them!Β I had some doubts how to dispict the queen and where to place her, but I ended up following the way I first imagined it in my head - so now I'm really glad you approve!Β Β

It was a good artistic decision, Ann Sofie . Another thing I like is that the wooden roof is low, looking as if Snow will bump her head on the beams if she straightens her back. As it's a dwarfs' house, it makes sense that it should be.
