Description CONFUSED????? NOT WORKING?? FIRE NOT TRANSPARENT????? Check out this add-on tutorial that may help with your transparency issues! anuwolf.deviantart.com/art/Fir…

Oh wow a DD! Thankyou so much! First time I've been on dA in a while so this is a surprise, I found out kind of late, 2 days later. Nice way to start the new year! xD And please excuse the silly language / overuse of emotes in the tutorial. I was younger back then, and more prone to excessive emoting >>

I found out this technique a couple days back and find it to be extremely useful. I thought you guys deserved to know about it too I wasn't sure if someone else had a fire tut like this one up, so if there is... sorry? xD

Thanks for making this. THis is a instant Fav+...

Thanx very much! and for all of those who (like me) wanted an option without the blackground (that's how Fred Weasley calls the funkadelic black-music background, please don't sue me), because many of us work with layers, easy! Do the fire on a black layer, on a black space -square or circled, whatever- then after the whole fire process (which comes out great as Anuwolf said it) select the black part with the wand and delete it, you'll get a weird black-like perimeter, but ou just smudge a lil'bit more with the finger tool and that's it. SO simple. Thank you Anuwolf! I'ma have to follow you to see what else will you offer.

Draw it opaque I think its called?like..... Draw it on but with the layer at.... 80 or however density/opacity? It might work

MoofyKitten In reply to ??? [2010-11-05 20:12:44 +0000 UTC]

it is helpful but can't really be implemented in a picture. Just fire on a black background. Is there any way you can make fire without the black background so it can be inserted into a picture?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Anuwolf In reply to MoofyKitten [2010-11-05 20:57:35 +0000 UTC]

At the end of the tutorial I did say what to do if you wanted the fire to be transparent, although this transparency sometimes doesn't work in a picture (not 100% all the time).

What you do is you take your black layer with the fire on it, make it into a normal layer (if it was a locked background layer, usually in photoshop the first layer you have is the background layer). Move this fire layer above your picture layer, (the things you want the fire to be on). Then you just set that layer to "screen", so hopefully the only thing that will show is the fire.

Let me know if that helps.
