The pentacle can face up or down and be Wiccan/Pagan. The direction it points has nothing to do with religious affiliations.

Indeed it is. The cross is a very old symbol, used by the pagan faiths since time immemorial. As I understand, it's original meaning was "The World", with the horizontal line being the horizon and the vertical line separating east and west.

I have heard that. Interesting how older religious symbols are adopted by new ones, eh?

I know. I'm just saying that different religions borrow ideas and symbols from each other. St. Peter's cross being no exception.

It's very funny to see all these Protestants wearing a Catholic symbol.

Indeed. And it tickles me silly to watch Christians of all sorts use X-Max trees and eat Candy Eggs at Easter. X3

Well, most Christians aren't under the impression that Halloween is a Christian holiday, to my understanding.

Really? The history I'm familiar with is that modern Halloween is a capitalized combination of Celtic Pagan traditions and Latin America's 'Las Dias de los Muertos'. And I do know that pagan faiths still use it as an actual holiday, called 'Samhein' (pronounced Sow-enn).

I guess it's a bit longer ago.
Yes, it was taken over; then they forgot, and now call it Devils Night. People don't dress up even the itty-bitties anymore, while others go around doing nasty things. It sickens me.
P.S.,
I didn't ger here till the 80s

I'd just like to point out that an inverted cross was originally the Cross of St Peter, a valid Christian symbol. Many people assume it is a "symbol of evil" because it was adopted as a symbol of the Anti-Christ, much the same way a pentagram was adopted as a symbol of Satan.
I love this though. people need to quit assuming they know everything before they educate themselves.

I didn't know that about the inverted cross. I only knew that it's the modern day reference for the antichrist. odd how once benign and even positive symbols get twisted in people's minds due to a simple resemblance that's been altered from the original form, eh? kinda like the swastika, which was a Chinese symbol for 'peace' for centuries until the nazis got their hands on it. (I think it used to be called a 'dao' and was tilted to the side a little bit) all i know is that I've seen people point at a wiccan star, or 'pentacle', and immediately shout 'satanist'. it annoys me. thankee for your insight, btw ^^

yeah, originally it represented Peter's wish to be crucified upsidedown because he felt unworthy to die like Christ.
It's certainly sad when something beautiful is looked upon as evil. The swastika also represents luck/good fortune, power and strength I believe(It's been awhile since I studied the topic )
I hate that people make assumptions like that as well, but people are people and not likely to change anytime soon I guess. It's nice to know there are others who will spread the message. Thanks for an interesting discussion xD
