Description
I'm still alive! And it's Charmander! I'm planning on entering this into 's current contest, Pokemon! Though not this photo because I want to finish all the starters from the first games and a group photo is a must!
Anyway, I'm planning on writing out the patterns for all of them so as usual, please credit me should you use or reference the pattern. It really does take me a lot of time to write these out! Also, please don't sell the pattern or finished product since I do not own these characters! Let me know if you catch any errors! Thank you!

**The flame at the end of the tail was made by brushing out yarn. I was trying to figure out how to make the flames look more "flame-like" and ended up using this tutorial: by as a guide. I ironed the brushed out yarn instead of using a hair straightener since I didn't have one, but it seemed to do the trick!
**The eyes and nails are needle felted though I'm sure cut out felt will also work!

Wait, the head/body... I think the 14th line down: " -Sc 9, dec, Sc 6, dec, sc 6, dec, sc 9 (40)" I think it's missing a sc 6, dec -- at least, I'm coming up with 33 as the total there.

It's adorable~ >w<
A little tip about brushing the tail to make it more flame-like, I recommend using Simply Soft yarn. That version of acrylic brushes out really nicely without the need of a straightener. ^w^ It's the yarn that I used on my baby yak that I'm auctioning later. XD

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely have to try that brand since I already love how soft and shiny it is And saving me the extra work is a bonus!
Can't wait to see how your yak turns out!

It's my pleasure. >w< We crafters gotta stick together after all.
It's been my favorite for years, but finding out how nicely it brushes out was a very nice plus. XD
You're going to love it. XD He's so cute and fluffy~

aphid777 In reply to altearithe [2014-01-25 19:28:01 +0000 UTC]
It's definitely softer and thinner so it must work really well for the tiny cuties you make You know me and my humongous stuff....
I was going to say that I can't wait to see it, but then I saw it! He is SO cute ^^

Oh gosh no, it's much too big for my wee ones. XD I use wool fingering yarn from knitpicks for those. But Simply Soft is amazing for hand-sized guys. :3
Oh gosh, yeah. XDD Sometimes I think you're insane for making giant things, but I love them.
I hoped you'd like him. >w< He's so crazy fluffy that I'm still surprised how well he was brushed. @ w @
I need to try the Sport version and see if it brushes out as nicely, actually.

Ah yes that's true, I do remember you mentioning that you use fingering yarn Maybe someday I'll have to get into making tiny things though I feel like I'd give myself arthritis... or I'd lose them! I'm a mess.. haha Best of luck with your auction! He is so super fluffy, I love it!

Aw, this is so cute! Charmander looks adorable, and those needlefelt eyes are super cute and add a very endearing quality to it~ AND THOSE LITTLE TOES GAH - oddly(?) that's one of my favourite parts, like I just want to reach out and play with its little feet. <3
And the little flame on the tail is perfect! I love what those wire brushes can accomplish with yarn, as well as what you can do with an iron or a straightener. Yarn is remarkably versatile.

Thanks so much! Yarn is such an amazing medium I actually went outside in single degree weather to take pictures and realized... I FORGOT HIS TOES. So I had to make them really quick before it got dark to retake photos. Made it in time

Just a quick question, but what kind of yarn do you use for your amigurumi? Acrylic? Wool? Cotton? All of the above?
