Description
Slowly working through the other Eevee evolutions I'm going to be on a short break on these after this one because I'm working on a project for contest, "Dreams". So excited for it, but I hope I can finish in time! Anyway, here is Umbreon! (Black is such a difficult color to take photos of >_<).

I am a bit confused with the stuffing no matter what I do it doesn't look right like it's too big I've done it correct I'm just worried that I'm stuffing too much.

aphid777 In reply to DemonicWolfGirl1 [2015-10-28 16:03:00 +0000 UTC]
Maybe you can try stuffing less? I'm not too sure what's going wrong with yours. I've used this pattern for several other Pokemon and it's been relatively consistent for me so far :-/

I'm going to try again at a later time I have a feeling video is more better to show off than an image.

So for the eyes, where exactly are they located? Like what stitches do they start and end on and stuff. I always end up making them too high or small and big eyes are so cute T_T

aphid777 In reply to vulpixies [2015-10-28 15:36:53 +0000 UTC]
I kind of just estimate where the eyes should be, so I don't know where they start at Sorry about that! Maybe you can try cutting out a shape and size you want and pin it on to see how it looks before doing the final set of eyes?

Hello, I'd like to ask you a couple questions. How much yarn did you go through to make this plush? And my mom knows how to follow the directions but neither one of us know what Sc dex or Fo or any of the abbreviations mean, could you please clarify?

aphid777 In reply to OkamiNoAi [2015-01-15 03:05:32 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! I wish I knew of some good guides!
I ended up watching a ton of YouTube videos to learn the basics of needle felting, but most of what I learned was from practicing and breaking a lotttt of needles >_< I even gave up for a while before trying it again maybe a year later. I would recommend getting coarse needles if you can find them because the wool will stick a lot better. I have a really basic tutorial here: Needle Felted Eyes: A basic picture tutorial . Sorry I can't be of more help!

👍: 0 ⏩: 2
aphid777 In reply to VoxelPerlers [2015-01-08 02:03:14 +0000 UTC]
The eyes are made of wool roving that has been needle felted onto the surface
👍: 0 ⏩: 0
Vivacia18 In reply to VoxelPerlers [2014-12-26 03:20:57 +0000 UTC]
She used needle felting for the eyes - it's a process where you stab through loose fiber to make it tangle, or 'felt', together. You can either use loose roving or just brush out yarn you already have on hand to do this. It's art on it's own, but as you can see from aphids beautiful work it's also a handy tool for detail work on other fiberwork as well
