Description
Slowly working through the other Eevee evolutions I'm going to be on a short break on these after this one because I'm working on a project for contest, "Dreams". So excited for it, but I hope I can finish in time! Anyway, here is Umbreon! (Black is such a difficult color to take photos of >_<).

Hey aphid,
I don't understand why there is an open FO on the body part?
The FO is on the undersite so nothing will be attached to it?
I'm just a beginner an try to make one of this little cuties for my girlfriend.
Besides, really nice work!

After you fasten off, leave a length of yarn so that you can sew the parts together. Where the FO is located on the body is to help you position and construct Umbreon when you're done making the pieces. The head, body, limbs, ears, and tail are separate pieces so you will have to sew them together after you've completed each piece. I hope that makes sense!

The opening on the body is where you are going to attach the head - I've got some WIP shots here. You want to attach the top of the body to about row 8 of the head, and the bottom of the body to about row 16. If your finding it difficult to keep everything in place while you sew, I recommend skewing the head and body together with a long knitting needle, or a kebab skewer or something.

Good luck, I'm sure your girlfriend will love it!

I made this for my bro for his first day at school (even a shiny!) as he said, he'd like to have. And then he dared to complain about the colours being wrong XD I was like: "Like f*** the colours are wrong! You wanted it that way!"
Now he wished for a shiny Espeon for Christmas XD
I really like those patterns! Thank you for sharing!

Hi! I'm a little confused on the ears, row 15 just says sc 8... So just 8 and don't finish the round? Or decrease to 8 in the round? Thanks😋

Yes, just sc 8 without finishing the round!

can you give us a photo of the yarn you used, brand size, I'm trying to figure out how to do this, but the yarn size you say you use and the hook you say you use are not recommended to be used together. European sizes?

aphid777 In reply to Shi-girl [2014-06-23 22:54:10 +0000 UTC]
I used this yarn for Umbreon: www.redheart.com/yarn/super-sa… and a size F hook (aka 3.75 mm). I don't follow the recommended hook size because I want the stitches tight for amigurumi so that there will be no show-through of stuffing.

Oh that's odd.. I use this pattern for all my heads in this style and others have too with no problem.. Maybe you can go back and double check that you've got the correct number of rounds with the correct number of stitches. It could be that our gauging is different too
I don't think it should be terribly off though.

Maybe. I used an F hook. Sometimes when increasing it doesn't look right. I don't know why but it just happens. Ha ha! Oh well, I will give it another try and see what happens.

aphid777 In reply to awmiller1980 [2014-05-27 22:50:23 +0000 UTC]
I usually stuff as I go along. You don't want to work the stuffing too much (mainly for larger pieces) or else it will ball up and your work will look lumpy from the outside. I like to stuff gently with my fingers from the outside-inwards. Hope that helps!
