Hello there
This is quite a charming picture you have here Your creature looks thoroughly designed, like you took time to think out each aspect of it (ex. color scheme, texture, wings, detail in the eyes) etc. I actually like how it looks like a miniature tiger crossbred with a hawk or something,
and the anatomy comes across quite well.
The one thing I want to critique is the composition. You have an effective concept, and a great angle, like looking down from a tree branch, though the one thing I think is that if the apple had some visible distance between it and the griffin/creature rather than the apple brushing against his face (in terms of composition). If you put the creature closer to the bottom right corner, it would be more effective watching his eyes draw over to the apple.
Nevertheless, it's still a good picture, keep on going

Aww! Too cute! His eyes look so very big, which just makes you want to hug him.
If there was anything I could suggest to improve on, I suggest using a different combination of animals for the little griffin. To me it looks like you have used a tiger and perhaps some bird of prey which gets me a bit confused because I do not imagine them looking hungrily at a fruit. I would suggest a parakeet or parrot (so something in the same family) as they are known for eating fruits and such. However I understand that having the griffin look at meat might take away from the cuteness of the image.
Lovely way of doing his feet! There so tiny to really show off the head, and so cute. Wonderful job on this piece.

thanks!
And thanks for pointing that out, it didn't occur to me until now! When I made him I just kept thinking I want him to be a tiger-like griffin and nothing could stop me I'll take this into consideration for sure. Thanks!

This is for the C4C contest.
The details on this drawing is really incredible. This is an amazing picture of a griffon. I love how sine apple and the griffon are under the tree, you did an amazing job of the tree's shadow. Really good job here!

I really like the light shining through the branches and the wings of the... creature. (? )

This is for C4C Comment Contest!
I instantly thought of Spore when I saw this picture!
I think you nailed the perspective on the back legs, but the front two legs need to be looked over ^^
otherwise, this is wonderfully rendered, clearly the creature is under the tree shade looking up at the apple - great job!

Hi *apples-ishness ,
This is me knocking out a comment on a lovely picture and entering the C4C Comment Contest--two very awesome birds with one stone. I'm going to start by saying that when I clicked on your gallery, this was the piece that caught my eye almost at once. From my quick browse, it looks like it's one of your strongest stand-alone pieces, and really highlights how far your skills have come, even just in the last month.
My favorite detail in this image is, hands down, the use of lighting. The small, dappled spots of sunlight really make this picture--the gold is a perfect contract to the brown colors of the gryphon (or is it a griffin?). The detail on the wings as well blows me away--I am in love with the feathers.
A few things that I'm not quite as in love with: the lack of detail on the beak (after what the picture does with the wings, the lack of beak texture stands out), the placement of the two front paws (while it may be how the creature's standing, there's something subtly off about the overall stance), and the blurred apple (while it's clear that it's blurred because the focus is on the gryphon, the impression I get is "quickly painted" rather than "out of focus").
Still, that said, the overall impression is quite lovely. The eyes are adorable and the white tuft on the tail makes me think of a house kitty. When I read in the Artist's Description that you created this picture to cheer you up, I smiled. It cheered me up too! There's something both adorable and mischievous in its beautiful, large blue eyes.

thank you for an awesome comment!
From other comments I've read I see that people like apples with details ~ lol so I'll keep that in mind next time.
And I redid the wings twice so I'm glad you like them!

It's a bit dark, but it might be only my monitor. I like how you did the dappled lighting, the sun shining through the canopy. The creature is cute, although it looks a bit "unstable" leaning so much to the right, the front legs should be a bit more spread out. Also, I'd add more shine to the eyes. But these are only minor things; I love your technique, and it's a great image.

perspecive seems odd (maybe because of the legs)

Love the shading and the detail work on the, er, creature? I almost wish there was less shading, the little fuzzball is so dark I had to zoom in to see all those wonderful details.
But I LOVE that the creature is puppy-eyeing the apple.

thanks! This little creature is a Griffon.
I always have trouble with the lighting because my laptop is apparently lighter than some monitor screens - sorry about that!

For the C4C contest:
It's a very...interesting piece of artwork. The apple's details look a bit different from the...I dont know what it's called. You have a great talent at this kind of stuff, and I hope to see more work from you!

Those eyes are just so precious, so full of longing for the delicious snack!!!
This is a very interesting perspective that you have here, kind of like you're hiding up in the tree I love all the details of the wings, especially where the light hits the feathers! You really did an incredible job with that. I think it would be nice to see more details in the grass and on the apple to balance with the detail of the wings, though
Love the concept, this is really excellent
