godzilla wins this fight one if cthulu could even controll godzilla mind and make him insine that will be alout worst than a normal godzilla and cthulu skull haterd by a wooden ship that crashed in his head plus cthulu has no fighting experince and yes i do know cthulu has super regenaration but godzilla would of blown of his head before he could regenrate plus godzilla tanked a black hole i dnt think cthulu has the spysical streantgh to hurt him

I think Cthulhu wins because of his venomous claws, his otherworldly powers, and his ability to control the minds of mortals... Basically this is how I see it; the stars have aligned and Cthhulu rises from R'lyeh, ready to smash the world into oblivion. Godzilla comes up from the ocean roaring and stuff, breathes fire on him, then pisses him off... Now they're having an epic fight in the middle of the city. Meanwhile humanity loses all sense of self-awareness and begin saying, "Cthulhu Fhtagn!" and NONE of the Military's tanks, fighter planes, Apache helicopters or infantry are even touching Cthhulu because Cthulhu is controlling everyone's minds!

So Godzilla is screwed over both ways; while the Military is busy shooting at him, the rest of humanity develops a hive mind and starts climbing up Godzilla's legs like ants on a marshmallow. In the end, he gets disemboweled by Cthulhu's venomous claws, becomes overwhelmed by the sheer number of helicopters, tanks and planes shooting at him, and from the folks crawling up his legs. Godzilla slowly bleeds out and dies from infection, Cthulhu wins, enslaves humanity, devours their children, and sends the entire world into abomination. Just as the Great Old Ones envisioned it...

"Neither man nor his machines can stop the monster"
-Raymond Burr (Godzilla: King of the Monsters)
Godzilla can not bleed out or die from infection, as he has incredible regenerative powers.
People could not climb his legs, they would die from radiation poisoning.
A black hole didn't even hurt Godzila. All of the militaries in them world could shoot at Godzilla and he wouldn't be affected... At all. He doesn't even feel it.
Cthulhu was defeated by a steamboat. Godzilla's radioactive breath can reach strengths of up to 328,000,000,000,000PSI, AKA, a lot more power than a steamboat.
In GMK, Godzilla ate the spiritual forms of 3 Gods. Cthulhu would be an archrival, at most.

If Godzilla is immune to conventional weaponry as well as venom, then he must be pretty badass... But I didn't see you mentioning him being immune to being brainwashed - which is Cthulhu's specialty - in which case, Cthulhu still wins for the fact that if he can't kill Godzilla, he'll just brainwash him and bend him to his will simply by looking him in the eye, which would end with the enslavement of humanity... also the steamboat didn't kill him, it only gave him a bump on his squishy squid-like head, and instantly regenerated - Cthulhu also has regenerative powers too y'know?

All attempts at controlling Godzilla's mind after 1985 has failed.
And if Godzilla was rammed by a steamboat, he wouldn't even feel it.

Yeah, because it was humans trying to control his mind, no human could ever pull that off no matter how advanced out technology was. Cthulhu on the other hand is an ancient demon-god who's powers are as unexplainable as the Void...

Xilians tried to control his mind, and they succeeded the first time around, but after 1985, he basically turned into an unstoppable force of nature. Good luck trying to control a hurricane. And remember who got owned by a steamboat...

You and the steamboat man, I swear that's like your only defense against Cthulhu... I read The Call of Cthulhu, the steamboat didn't kill him, it basically bumped his head and he was like, "Ow! Sonofabitch! That hurt!" then sank into the dark depths rubbing his head. He's still out there, plotting the demise of Man! Godzilla would pretty much be our only hope at survival...

Yes, we are finally on the same page. I was starting to get sick of this argument. Though I'm not the only person that uses the steamboat argument. One person actually used it to state why the Martian Tripods would be able to beat Cthulhu, but I don't believe it. Cthulhu could beat them by sneezing on them. (Get the joke?)

TickleMeHoHo In reply to M1n1dr10d-Y0D0 [2014-11-01 09:53:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes I get the joke, the martians who controlled those tripods are pussies who died from the common cold! Of course Cthulhu could easily defeat them... And since I just watched the new Godzilla movie for the first time like an hour ago, I'm kinda leaning more towards him winning now, simply because he was a fucking badass in that movie! lol And while I may still think that Cthulhu would win against Godzilla, I never said anything about Godzilla not being a challenging opponent to him... Regardless, they're both badass in their own ways.

Yes, I totally meant to say 'flawed argument,' because viewing from the outside, it looks like an argument, but it really wasn't.

TickleMeHoHo In reply to M1n1dr10d-Y0D0 [2014-11-03 09:21:08 +0000 UTC]

I still call it a nerdy discussion, because they're easily mistaken for arguments, due to how much the two parties emphasize the seriousness of the characters they talk about. Like I've seen people mistake a nerdy discussion about Superman and Batman for an argument simply because these people were getting REALLY into the topic of their favorite superheroes' powers by trying to one-up the other person... just like what we were doing with Cthulhu and Godzilla, it was actually pretty funny.

Anything Godzilla does to Cthulhu, it will regenerate, and vice versa, assuming Cthulhu doesn't vomit a black hole in Gojira's direction (then again, Godzilla has survived one, so who knows). Facing an insane Godzilla is never a good idea, as Destroyah, Mothra, Baragon, and King Ghidorah have found to their detrement. A scrapped Godzilla movie had him pwn Satan, so it stands to reason that he could defeat Cthulhu, depending on what incarnation of Godzilla it is.
Then again, what if they didn't fight... what if they teamed up? What if Cthulhu empowered Godzilla?

haha this battle seems to be between 2 types of nerds: scifi vs fantasy

Godzilla was supposed to take on Satan. the movie was scrapped 'cause christian's got all pissed off and shit! XD

Since Godzilla is already known to kill off deities and gods already... and he was supposed to kill Satan the darkest god himself! im sure he would be one hell of a challenge and possible victor over Cthulhu!

Gojira ftw!

Amazing! Cthulhu wins though. It is the essence of pure evil, and causes madness to any organism that has direct contact with it.

however Godzilla is an animal and creatures that aren't sentient aren't really affected by madness very much because they are driven by instinct and don't care about their place in the universe or how malign reality is

Not to mention the Star-Spawn, which are essentially his private army of Mini-Mes.

And also consider he was scaled down by a ridiculous amount here. He's not at all "miles high" in this picture, as described in Call of Cthulhu. Of course that's an exaggeration, but I'd guess he's at least a couple thousand feet tall, where Godzilla is a few hundred feet tall (300 or so if I remember correctly). Godzilla couldn't stand a chance even when you don't consider that Cthulhu can fry the minds of every human on the planet as though it was no great feat at all.

I apologize to all the Godzilla fanboys here, but Cthulhu vs. Godzilla is quite easily a curbstomp in Cthulhu's favor.
