My final project for my Graphic Design class.(I put the nudity filter on just incase, although I don't think it should actually need it.)
I would have liked to have more time to work on this, but I waited too long to start. It's not as complete as I would like but it'll work, I guess.
I do like how the seal skin came out though. ^.^I'm not used to drawing females so hopefully she looks okay..... >.>
These are two creatures from Celtic/Irish Folklore, called Selkies. Selkies are seals that every once in a while can shed their skins and walk around has humans.

I just find this pic so damn pretty my kids actually liked it too!!!! I normally run and hide when looking at all the arts just cause you know, but they liked it. Mind you my kids are under 3 lol!

Oh, this totally reminded me of a story I read about selkies once and I can't remember the name of it, but only the plot, vaguely. It's going to plague my mind until I find that story, well, probably.
Anyways, you did an awesome job on this and I LOVE the seal skins. I really do. They look so silky and I want to pet them.

lol. Yeah. But I kinda viewed it as them being brother and sister. The brother will go off to seduce some mortal women and the sister will enjoy her day on the beach....and hope someone doesn't steal her seal skin when she isn't looking. >.<

Actually that is part of the folklore. If a mortal man can steal her seal-skin then she has to follow him home and become his wife (apparently seal-women make great wives.
