Description
My final project for my Graphic Design class.(I put the nudity filter on just incase, although I don't think it should actually need it.)
I would have liked to have more time to work on this, but I waited too long to start. It's not as complete as I would like but it'll work, I guess.
I do like how the seal skin came out though. ^.^I'm not used to drawing females so hopefully she looks okay..... >.>
These are two creatures from Celtic/Irish Folklore, called Selkies. Selkies are seals that every once in a while can shed their skins and walk around has humans.

I really like the coloring on this one...my favorite part, though, is that even though they're human, they still have sort of seal-like eyes. :3 Very nice effect.

Ah, reminds me of that movie about a guy who rescues a Selkie from another very possessive guy and falls in love with her instead until he realizes that she will die if she gives up her immortality as soon as she chooses to live with the guy, so the guy carried her while she was in her sick bed and rowed her out to sea and sent her back to where she belonged, forsaking his love for her life

It's a rather old movie actually, from the Hallmark Channel. I occasionally watch romance sometimes, to balance out my yaoi obsession before I get OD

lol, well for movies and TV shows I prefer to watch stuff like Action/Adventure, Fantasy, comedy, and psychological thrillers/murder mysteries (my fav show is Criminal Minds). But I rarely watch romance of any kind....in fact I hate most Het couples. =.=; (I only have 2 that I like)

That's an interesting folklore and how you captured it is really amazing.

they're not bad at allll - A- *sigh* I guess I should < w < But...I tend to use my own hands for reference and my hands are all short and stubby and don't do me any good > 3< I want one of those wooden hands you can move around

Well one thing you can do is too look thru magazines and such and use the model's hands to practice drawing different hand positions. I also study the way that other artist's draw hands and try to copy it sometimes for practice. (like Hinako Takanaga. I love how she draws them)
