Description
So I've been working on a little alternate history project lately, tentatively entitled A.D. 754 (which is the year in which the parallel universe diverges from the history of our own reality). I put together this geopolitical world map of the world in 2013 as it exists in the alternate history (as you can see, it's considerably different).Related content

I'd be living somewhere on the border of the pink and the incredibly light green bits in Australia :/

This is so interesting! I see that if this was reality, I'd live in that Socialist Republic of Germany D:

Thank you!
That is a bit of a shame though... Who knows though, maybe you get lucky and your ancestors end up in another country? The red nearby is the British Empire, and the dark blue up there is United Norseland. Do you think it would be possible for you to somehow end up in one of those places?

Welcome! Hmm, well I have ancestors from Belgium not to far ago, so I suppose some of them might have ended up in that green area (to be honest im not sure where Belgium is xD) As for my Swedish relatives, I think we've been living in this area for a long time (southern Sweden)so I guess that the chances are quite small they'd be living in the British Empire or United Norselands O.o
Ah well, maybe the socialist republic of Germany isnt that bad! xD
Im curious btw, how did you make this map?

I see
I made it with GIMP; I just took a world map picture and pixel-by-pixel made new borders and colors. It took a LONG time, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

GIMP, I've heard if it but never tried it actually! Yeah, I can imagine that it took some time then

Yeah, I mostly use it because it's free, and because there are fewer controls that Photoshop (which, frankly, I prefer because it's less confusing to me), haha. Yeah, it was a lengthy project, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Oh yeah, well Photoshop is really confusing at first!
I've used it for a long time now, so I know the what I need to know at least ^^
I mostly use an really old version of it though, so if I tried out the newest ones I'd probably be really confused

What is that dark-green country in middle Europe?

That's the Socialist Republic of Germany. Germany is a communist state in modern day in the alternate world.

Is there Poland on this map?

Sort of: Poland doesn't exist as an independent state in the alternate history in the present day, since it was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia, and Prussia allied with and was incorporated into Germany, which later became the Socialist Republic of Germany (officially Sozialistische Republik Deutschland).

I'm sure it will changed. In THIS history Poland was waiting 123 years to back on maps, and it was sukcesed.
