I know what you can get out of this is very cool, but the tutorial all seems a bit disjointed, like you forgot to mention layers you added and stuff. It's okay over all, but I think it could benefit from being a little more specific.

For the white lines around the explosion, don't use brushing. Use the pentool. Other than that, great job
