A wayyy wayyyy WAYYYY long overdue commission for sharkie510 , which coincidentally is my last paid commission.  Thank you very much for being so patient with me as I dealt with everything from computers upchucking to overtime at work to the daily rigors of handling a baby girl in her terrible twos.  I really hope you enjoy the finished product-- and I will be including it and the postworked fullsize renders in a zip file for you as a thank you as soon as I can get it out to you!

This is an homage to the wonderful story My Name Is...  by nknx2005 , which if you haven't read it yet, you really should.  I definitely did take a couple bits of artistic liberty with it-- the light from the globe on the floor was too awesome compared to being on a pedestal, so I ran with it, for instance.  And while here and there the captions are spun from the story, I didn't copy them word for word and threw in some of my own interpretation.   Hopefully I didn't go too overboard there.

Hope you all enjoy it!

Poser for composition, Cinema 4D for camera, lighting and render, and Photoshop for various postwork and compositing.

Also: Check out Mookyvet 's awesome rendition of the scene from this same story here, because it kicks all sorts of ass.

One of my Favorite Story(Settings) - at least for the storybase (and shes UA with 17year) its ok for clothed petrification (i dont like it in medusabased-stories ) but the orb has other functionallity...

The cave has stalactites that means that given enough time the statue will be slowly covered in mineral deposits until it is  embedded in solid cave flow stone. It will be completely hidden deep inside solid rock never to be found.

An immortal self aware statue embedded deep inside a rock formation, after millions of years what kind of mind would develop?

A sequel is needed, rescue or eternal stillness.

I have written sequels to this story on my account. Look in the "Ashley Blaire Peters" folder

I'm sure you've said it before, but what do you use to make these? I was thinking of starting my own inages like this

This is a pretty good rendition of the story, I have to say. Nice pacing and sense of suspense followed by certain fatality. If I were to criticize anything... maybe I would say that the repeat panels on her hand getting petrified were maybe given a little bit too much space, but that also comes from a personal dislike of repeat panels, as much as I know they are sometimes needed. But that's a minor nitpick on something that is visually impressive and pretty dynamic (for a petrification story), so great job !

I agree. As I've said too, in hindsight, I think it would've been nice to have a few more panels showing her progressively turning into stone from different angles (like perhaps a couple of shots of her looking at arm and body in shock as the petrifying wave rolls over her). However, I do have to say that the repetitious back-and-forth between her hand and her eyes/face really help convey dramatically the growing realization, disbelief, shock, and fear she must have felt over what was happening to her. It's great visual story-telling!

It is terrifying and exciting all at once. Plenty of us want to see and be people who are turned into statues, temporarily at least. She didn't get to choose. And there's no safety net.

This is really amazing, great job. I remember to this day the first time I read the story of this girl, It was one of my first stories ASFR

The story of this girl is really incredible, I was surfing the internet when I found your story, it's a story that marked me, is the kind of thing you do not forget, his description of what was happening to her, feelings, everything. You are an amazing writer, congratulations.
Sorry I have not expressed myself before, because there were no words.

Thank you so much for the kind words! It just makes me really happy that you were able to connect with her as you did. Means I did something right.

Fabulous work!   The eerie green lighting from the orb really sells this, and, after reading the original, I think you did a good job distilling the story down to fit in the space allotted.

I would agree, he did a really good job abridging the story to the essentials for this work

And a wayyy wayyyy WAYYYY long overdue THANK YOU to you Argo for doing this piece! It was certainly worth the wait.

I think your bits of artistic liberty adds to the story and don't really deviate too far from the original. I think I would've loved seeing a few more mid-transformation scenes from different angles, but perhaps I'm just being too greedy haha. All-in-all, its a great faithful adaptation! Along Mookyvet 's take, and of course nknx2005 's fantastic writing, this story really comes to life now (at least for me) with your 3D rendition. It's nothing but fantastic!

Thank you so much again!

This is quite excellent!  I enjoyed it a lot, of course the idea of being an aware statue seems way worse than just being unaware lol
