One bullet is all it would take to kill everyone inside.

You're assuming the dome is made of normal window glass? Why would anyone make such a gigantic dome protecting a city from a harsh environment in normal window glass? That doesn't make any sense.

I would assume it was that the "glass" was actually a transparent steel alloy, which they've experimented with on the International Space Station. Although, it would be more realistic (and cost-efficient) to cover the dome in regolith and light it internally with LED.

The rocky landscape outside really adds to the felling of the picture, great job!

Thank you. The idea of the rocky setting outside was to establish a contrast with the interior of the dome - one arid and rocky, the other green and smooth. I'm glad it worked.

I like this kind of idea... Bringing life, plants, animals, all of them into various planets with protective shelters like those... Imagine a universe like that...

Read the Red Mars trilogy and 2312 by Kim Stanley Robinson. Those books are all over this sort of thing.

Just perfect !

VERY awesome. It looks plausible, almost like a bedroom community for telecommuters who have holodecks in their homes.

Very good work! With a little more variety in the vegetation, it would be even better.

Thanks! You're totally right. This was made a long time ago. If it were today, I would have included more variety.

Maybe some Autumn color would not be out of place to keep a seasonal cycle going. That would help to maintain the plants health, and genetic stability. I have to say that all of your domed habitat's have been a pleasure to see. I would love living in them. They would probably build a ring of living and working space into the crater walls and under the bulk of the crater proper. This would also provide total protection from radiation and other dangers on Mars, the Moon, and other such likely places. All in all quite a paradise. Great work.

With the exception of the sky, this could very well be somewhere in the Southwest. About that sky with the primary still above the horizon - stars would not be visible due to glare and the limitations of the eye. It's the same thing that confused the Apollo mission deniers. They could not see stars in the photographs from the moon because reflected sunlight made them invisible. Love your work though.

Yes, you're probably right about the stars. But realism ranks only 3rd in my level of priorities, when it comes to creating images. My first two priorities are imagination and beauty so sometimes I have to sacrifice a bit of realism...

The lighting is impressive! Naturally since the moon has no atmosphere then the sky will not appear blue so you made that look very realistic.

Truly beautiful! A dream come true. Someday... someday...
But, is that big star the parent star? Because if it is then the lightning is wrong... I am surely wrong, just thought you might want to know.
Hope to see more dome colonies!

That in front is not a star, that's a very dense star cluster. Or at least that was my intention.
The "sun" is on the right side of the image, as you can see from the shadows. This scene was built in Vue, which is a 3D software so the sun is an object that I place where I want. It's very similar to Bryce, that you use. It's the software that defines the shadows, based upon the place where I placed the sun. So, the shadows can't be wrong because they're calculated by the software.

Must hace one heck a computer, for that spaceship of mine, it moved in inches at a time, a true test of patience...
As I said, hope you make more colonies in the future!

Very good. With no atmosphere outside you can have the main star light and still see stars in the sky.
Great idea.
I have a similar concept at [link]
Cheers

Yes, to have "sunlight" and yet see the stars. That was my goal, I'm really glad you liked it.
Your image is great. I really like the domes!
