Description This is my 5th image of this series, "The Three". As the other ones, this also has one clearly predominant color.

Here are the other ones in the series:

As always, this was rendered in Vue.

The Three series are awesome!

I take it that the statues/monuments are planetary markers planted by an alien race on 5 worlds.

what's interesting about them is the odd placement of the statues/monuments on mountains and in a harsh climate.

Thanks! That's a great idea.
You might like to read what a great writer wrote inspired by one of the images in this series. I loved reading it. Here: margaretsmcgraw.blogspot.pt/20…

btw, it just occurred to me.

I do remember reading a comic book about some huge powerful cosmic giants who show up one day at a city and just stand there for years or decades and no knew who they were.

I think they were called Celestials from Marvel Comics.  Not sure tho, if DC comics had anything similar.

Her story kinda of reminds me of them.

That seems to ring a very distant bell but I'm not sure... I read thousands of comics on my teens (and beyond ), mostly DC and Marvel but also some europeans (Bilal, Moebius, Segrelles and a few others).

yes, nice write up based on your image.  too bad she didn't do a follow up on the story.

organic, interesting idea.

Reading Margaret's stories about my images always makes me think that I made the images based on their stories and not vice-versa. It's a really strange feeling. She makes my images alive.

Although I strongly prefer your alien landscape/colony pictures, I find this 'the three' concept very interesting and hope to see more of them.

This series is great.  Allows the mind to follow several tangents, and I particularly like that you 'size' them with nearby comparisons (human[oid] with boat, baloon, ship).  So far this red and the clouds stand out to me especially.

Looks awesome!!! What tools did you use for this?

Thanks!
I modeled the statues in Zbrush (from a Poser base model). I made the stars in Photoshop with various brushes and then imported it into Vue where I applied it to a plane (an alpha plane). The water, land, lighting and atmosphere were all configured in Vue, where I also rendered the image.
