I have to disagree with the eraser tool leaving behind chunks and so forth and being for beginners. A tool is only as good as the artist behind it and if you do it right, you don't leave behind chunks.

I would have to disagree with you, up until this tut I always used eraser alone. I have now discovered that when I cut with just an eraser on a plain BG it looked odd on the final BG and you could see small chunks left over. The pen tool also makes cutting lines sharper as well.

Yay! *highfives* I use the eraser for things like erasing the mane/tail or getting rid of background that I missed with the path tool. but as far as cutting goes, thats all I use the eraser for :3
