I wish you to be! You would maybe need a tripod also, if you do not already have one, of course

I really will at some point have a go but I am only just getting back into photography after many years out.

I know we all complain about "if only I had a better camera I too would be able to take great shots" but at the moment I don't even have a tripod let alone of camera flash units.

Anyway enough of me moaning

But I trully can understand your thoughts, I also had them before to buy my Canon and lenses... I was frustrated and unhappy In fact, it was a beautiful gift for me, a friend now...
From almost five years, I never felt the need to buy another camera, bigger, more expensive, better... But better than what? For what? Of course, I would love have a Canon EOS 5D Mark II for example
But mine is enough, it makes me happy and I never am frustrated using it, so why would I pay very expensive, especially if I cannot

Wow, congratulations! I really love your shots, I still have a lot to learn hehe! And thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial, it's really of great importance to learn from the masters

I have a question: what system do you use to let the drops fall? Do you use a stream of water or did you build something to let them fall in a constant rhythm? In my tries this was the hardest part, cause I built a pierced bottle and hanged it somewhere, but it was constantly moving and so it changed the point of impact of the drop, so the focus was really hard!

Thanks again, and don't worry, your english is OK

Bye!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ArwenArts In reply to Metalelf0 [2011-01-05 23:07:02 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for interesting and asking...
No I do not use bottle or semething else, I would like, but alone, it is too much complicated
I didn't specify this in the tutorial, maybe I should do:
I use the faucet in my kitchen. I gonna try to be clear with my bad English, sorry for that.

Actually, I bought a faucet with a little shower than I can remove. So when I removed it, I have a little tube which must be stand from above the point impact you choosed to work. Of course, I do not have a lot of posibilities, but like it is macro, we do not need a lot of place to work.I attach the tube at my window handle with a piece of string, always from above the impact point. I do that as I can and I found this way adapted to my situation, but it could be something lese I guess...
After, I adjust a little flow for the water, it is so important to be the most accurate possible. If you have a too much big flow, you will not have beautiful drops but many bubbles. How the flow is adjusted will make work your droplets in a way or another one.
I wish I could help a little and please let me know about your next drops shots! :wave!

Thank you very much! I'm trying something but I still haven't bought the remote controllers for my flashes, so I'm still limited with lights. But I'm trying to achieve something with colors, so I'd be glad to hear your suggestions! Thanks again!

ArwenArts In reply to Metalelf0 [2011-01-28 15:22:17 +0000 UTC]

I often work with only my flash. Actually I work in my kitchen when the night felt, using it as a dark room. It makes different things, all ways make difference, nothing freeze
