Edit: I tried to add motion lines. Do they look okay? ^_^"I need to quit doing this... >_>"
So... another panel from an unfinished page of my The Blood of an Alchemist comic . ^_^"
I think I'm going to edit the shadows, though. I had forgotten which way I had decided to have the light coming from in that scene...

It looks just like him X3
As for the movement lines, you got some spiffy advice up there. I'd suggest making them smaller and a little less noticeable also, so it's more subtle. That's how I do it, so it more gives the impression of him turning his head than some lines saying "And now he turns his head!" Does that make sense?

It makes sense. I have redone the lines (going by how an online comic I read does it), but I didn't update the pic. ^_^" I think maybe I submit too many panels. I should submit pages instead... But, I have none done.
I think there's alerts in my inbox for stuff I haven't read yet, but I'm not sure when I will because I'm taking two classes right now that last until the end of the month. (actually, I'm a week or more behind in one of them because the other has too much stuff to do. >_>" )

Eh...I know the feeling. I drew about four pages of my webcomic before I scrapped the idea, and now I'm contemplating something else. Real life can really get in the way of stuff like that, can't it? :3
Would one of those things you haven't read yet happen to be my fic? X3 I seriously look forward to your reviews (and I'm not kissing up either) You're one of like three people who have ever given me concrit. Most everyone else is like "YAH IT'S AWESOME" not like I don't like that, but I still like to improve.

Even when I didn't have anything else I needed to do, my comic ideas didn't seem to jump out at me to demand being finished. It seems I used to be able to do things faster, but now everything takes so long. ^_^"
Mainly your fic. I did sneak in reading someone else's fic's chapter, but I didn't seem to have much to say, so maybe I shouldn't be reading fics when school things are on my mind. ^_^" I don't know how much critic I've given your stuff, but it seems there's usually stuff that jumps out at me as being interesting or funny or something.
(hmm... begin working on last week's homework for the Java class, begin working on the paper due next week in the Lit class, begin working on the pic I was going to draw my mom for her birthday next week, or... I'll probably end up playing around on dA or something all day. >_>" Stupid, go do something, Asj. >_< )

That usually happens to me when I first start something: I'm all fired up, and stuff flies out quick, but then it's kind of like wah wah, real life returns. XD
It's because your brain new you should be reading MY fic XDD And yeah, you've pointed out a couple of things I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.
Wow, I'm also working on a pic for my mom's b-day. Which was like 11 days ago XD I stink at deadlines...

I think they look alright...maybe if they were a little thinner, a little more subtle. Right now, they stand out a bit too much, and to me look a little like rings encircling his head, or maybe even claws? Least, that's how I see it, because I usually use thinner lines to indicate movement.
My advice, based on my own experience and drawing style, is just to focus a bit less on the little things. You seem to stress the details, and the things you worry about and work on the most tend to stand out more. Try to make those the things you want the reader to first notice when they see a page.
Well, maybe it'll look better on the final page. Anyways, good work so far, and I hope to see the finished product soon!

At least the lines are thinner than I first thought of making them. ^_^" I can't tell when something like that is too thin or too thick. ^_^"
The panel's going to be a fourth as big as the download size so it might be okay - I need to find a reference somewhere, though... I'm reading several online comics, but I usually can't remember much about them.
I like your advice. It's something I haven't really thought much about before and it makes me wonder about things. I suppose my goal would be to be able to draw like the first FMA anime, but if you look at screenshots from that, well, they're always at least 5 times more detailed and beautiful as I seem to be able to do. But, things don't stand out much, so maybe the artists that make that stuff are so good at it, they don't have to work on making things looking okay.
(by the way, I think the page this is for is close to halfway done now - although it is the third page and I wanted to revise the first two pages first)

Well, they are professionals, after all. I think they worried a little more about the plotline, rather than the artwork. Although they did worry about the art, the most important part is the plot, and I feel that some artists get so absorbed in making their art look good, they forget about the plot.
As for your goal of drawing like the first anime, try first by taking screenshots, and copying them. Everybody does it to practice, even the professionals. Practice dooding with that style, experiment a little, and pretty soon you'll get better at it.

I copy screenshots sometimes, but it seems I never remember how I copied them afterward. ^_^"
Hmm... I've never finished copying an FMA background, though. Perhaps I should see if I can do that... (remembers there's not really a background in this pic) Well, usually backgrounds are much harder than the foreground - and for some reason I picked a big establishing shot for the first two pages of my comic.
