Description
These are my Various Attempts to depict the many glorious creations of Emily Rodda in her book series 'Deltora Quest.'

At this stage, I was getting quite tired of trying to make my monsters realistic. And then I was tasked with drawing what would be essentially giant spiders. Not insulting Rodda here, I certainly hadn't ever read about giant spiders that ran on water and hang out around a globe, but still. So I said to myself "Hey, we're underground, and we're getting closer and closer to the Shadowlands here, why not make them a little more interesting." The result is one of my very favourite designs up here. I'm just going to imagine that the filmof spiderweb under the surface of the water is enough to support their weight so I can have spindly needle legs if if I want them. All I know is this thing is sure as hell not going to run anywhere on normal water, which is why it stops after the warning ring I guess.
