Description The new animatic is up! You can check it out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGs4jb…
It's the Count of Monte Cristo!

We tried a lot of new things with this one, Ghost used AfterEffects and I coloured this one in. Just a note but I HATE colouring. That is the reason it took so long, but I need to colour this set in because it is important to the story. yay

Hey! How do you animate or what do you use to draw the scenes? It's really cool!

My favorite part in "Confrontation" it's "♪I'll live inside you forever♪!!!" (I can't stop singing   ... ... ... ... ...    ).

Excellently done, I so much enjoy the level of emotion you are able to express through your characters. The exaggerated facial expressions, poses, and movements communicate so strongly what each character is feeling I could nearly watch your animatics muted and not miss any of the ideas. I simply love your work.
I have but one complaint regarding the linework, one thing that bothers me whenever I see it, but at the same time I've started to associate it with your style.
That complaint is that when drawing a profile view of a pony you seem to draw a circular head with the snout protruding noticeably from the head, and in portrait views the head usually becomes just a circle. I am fine with both of these, but it is as the head turns from a three quarter view toward a profile view it sometimes seems to maintain its circular shape while the face takes on a perspective that indicates that the head curves away shortly after the edge of the eye. To me it sort of breaks the illusion of the form of the figure.
I am not sure I am communicating this idea properly.
I think what is causing the issue for me is that the outside edge of head maintains one continuous arc, which would mean the shout can't stick out that much, but still other views show the snout sticking out too far to fit in the other view.
Ugh... Ok, pictures!
Focus on the bottom of the snout and compare the images at 0:15, 0:29, 1:56, and even the very subtle change in the arc at 0:20
with the ones of at at 1:30, 1:32, 1:38 and especially 1:46.
The latter images give the idea that the form of their heads is very spherical with shallow details on the surface, while the former images give the head a more complicated form, still rather spherical, but with a smoothly curving jowl flowing from the slightly protruding snout.

At the same time however, I simply love the images like the ones at 1:24, 1:35, and 1:59 despite the continuous arcs defining the edges of the head... Hmm.. That makes it sound like I don't love the other ones.
I love them all, I thoroughly enjoy your animatics, I just don't like the ones that seem to stick out to me as breaking the continuity of their forms as much as the rest.

I've never done something like this that requires so many hand drawn images of the same characters in very similar poses, I imagine it must be hard. I hope my message has not been at all discouraging to you, I love what you've produced so far and look forward to seeing more.

Good job on the video, can't wait to see the rest of them. One thing I wonder though, you made the ears a bit big in some frames compared to their sizes in most. Were you trying to abstractly reflect some sort of devilish nature of the characters (2:24's Twilight possibly being an example?) or maybe branching out for a different art style feeling? Was it simply a minor error in character scaling that I'm over analyzing?

oh my god! i did not even know I was doing that! the devil thing with Twilight was on purpose but the ear size I did not even notice. You know what, I bet it was Counts fault (my batbony OC) I gave him large ears on purpose and now he has ruined my consistant drawing. (even though it wasn't that consistant in the first place...) thanks for telling me! though I bet their ears are probably going to stay a little large.

Ha, nothing ventured nothing gained. "The Count" animatic seemed fun to do (it was fun to watch certainly) so I could hardly blame you for having it rub off some on your other works. It honestly wasn't too distracting to me, I just thought it was very noticeable at some points. Whatever the case your art is great and your partner's editing makes it fit well, a few minor mistakes isn't going to hurt anything.
