(OK...this is my second try uploading this, since the first time I did it, DA got all kinda of wiggy. His vehicle mode finally popped up, but no 'bot mode. Hopefully it doesn't show up after this)A 'repaint' I did using Instructions for Armada Optimus Prime (Deluxe) downloaded from Hasbro's official Transformers website, [link]
There are some TF characters that deserve to get homages of, and many of them do, time and time again. Prowl, Mirage, The Seekers, just to name a few. But then there are characters that were so damn good and beloved, that I don’t see HOW they’ve yet to get any further attention since the good ol’ G1 days. One of said characters is Kup. Kup rocked, plain and simple. He totally kicked ass and owned the movie, and he was one of (not to mention the best of) the main characters from Season 3. Kup was quite clearly a replacement for Ironhide, who was always a fan favorite, and got off’ed in the movie too. It’s kinda cool how the new TF comic has Kup and Ironhide being old war buddies, as fans always compared these two similar, old war horses. Well, since everyone loved Ironhide, and he’s had several new figures, and everyone loves Kup, where are HIS figures? None. Save for his G1 figure (ok, there were 2, one with a targetmaster partner, one without), Kup’s never had any later attention. Well…I decided to rectify this. This was kind of another spur of the moment idea, and I liked it a lot when I first thought of it and did it, though not so much now. I still love it, and wish it was a repaint we could get, but he’s not Super Kup or anything, heh. I’m still happy with it, and if it’s both an excuse to put a new color scheme to a prime mold, AND get a new Kup, sign me up.
His Minicon partner would obviously be Recoil, named after his old targetmaster partner. What makes this so cool, is that this Minicon actually IS a target master, able to turn into a gun.

Well, I like it. Of course, I like most of your stuff, so it isn't saying much, but I still like it. Sure it's a little bland in the color department, but it's Kup. He's supposed to look like this. Old, faded colors for an old war veteran/soldiers. A very nice addition to your repaints IMO.

Thank you. I had higher hopes for this guy personally. In my head, and playing around with the toy, trying to envision the new colors, it looked so much better. I dunno if it was just cause I couldn't get the right shades of blues for him, or if the idea just wasn't as good as I thought, but I'm not satisfied with how it turned out. it's definitly a good one, and one I'm still proud of, but in my head, it was so much better, so I feel like I let myself down.

Well, believe me when I say that's it's not a let down. If I stopped at every little thing that I thought was wrong with my drawings and all, I'd have never even posted them.
