Description Finally I made an ID for the main page!
I love flowers, particularly blue hydrangeas. I would like to thank my friend Elisa for allowing me to use one of her beautiful pictures as reference for this drawing.
One of my favorite passtimes in the summer is go camping and visiting parks with my husband...not too far from Illinois, there is the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (Michigan), which we visited this year. In the back you can see the unforgettable Chapel Rock beach.

Hope you like it!

Wow love the landscape in the background, the colours and shading are so pretty. What are copic markers like? Are they a bit like sharpies?

Thank you, that is a shore in Pictured Rock National Lakeshore in Michigan. It's a lovely place (unfortunately plagued with mosquitoes...).

Copic marker are quite different from the markers I used in the past (the children ones , which are also much cheaper!). I don't know if you are familiar with Prismacolor markers...they are rather expensive too, but not as much as Copics...that's the closest comparison I can think of.
Using copics to me is almost like painting (although I really am not a painter ). They can be blended, some of them are rather transparent, allow many interesting effects, and are very fun to use. I had been admiring people using these markers for a long time, when finally I decided to make the investment. I fell in love with them right away. I recently tried prismacolors as well...they feel different but for example I find that I get much more uniform color when I am painting big areas (it's also a question of technique, though, and I guess I am still a bit clumsy with Copics ). Hope this helps. :waves:

Have a look in the tutorial section here on dA: there are fantastic tutorialsthat demonstrate different techniques. Also, you can look for copic tutorials on youtube. They will give you an idea of the possibilities...

I love the scenery and the flowers. The only problem I have with this one is one eye is open wider than the other.

adorable

you are so good with copic markers..
you put so many color shades in everything! The flowers alone must contain at least 10..?

you look beautiful

Thank you so much!

I think the shades of the flowers are actually less than 10...it's just that I painted each slightly different from the one next to it (each flower has 2 shades only ).

Well, I think the drawing actually looks much better than the real me....

First I was like "ahk no fairy?" then I saw it and was like "aww"
The pic looks wonderful, the flower, scenery, the fairy and you, especially the look on your face.

I almost skipped the fairy this time...but then looking at the flowers and having found the ideal location, I could not refrain!

Thank you so much!
